morning everyone, great start to my day... the ultimate nightmare... the dishwasher has died. I can not survive without one, I'd rather give up the oven! It was pretty old and didn't wash well anyway, so I've spent the morning looking at new ones. I've decided I'm no longer going to buy the cheapest of everything, it's a false economy, in this house anyway. Washing machines and dishwashers just get used too much, so I've just bought a Miele one which will hopefully last a good few years. It's coming tomorrow.

My boss has just come from the Promotions & Progress meeting and said I should get a letter soon saying that I've been awarded a special payment (this is for all the training and support of new members of staff) and partly for preparing the examinations!

Effectively this means that my handbag is now free of charge cos the special payment will more than cover it (they normally award £500, which is about £300 after tax etc)!
