I feel the same about spending and earning - I can spend my week's wages in a lunch hour, which doesn't quite make economic sense
I hate money, actually. Hate it. It screws up everything. I am so scared that we don't have anything saved in case OH loses his job. I just don't know what we would do. I hate how comfortable we have become with the money we have and how easy it is to be blinkered. HATE it. Right that's it I am going to put something in my (empty) Egg ISA.0 -
In fact I hate how I think about it, I popped round to my neighbours to drop some things off and my heart sank at how beautiful her hallway was - why? Why do I care? I think it is about control. she looked in control.
She is 38 weeks pregnant, she'll find out soon enough :rotfl:0 -

I can emphatically state that drinking does not solve the problem!!!!!
Maybe you should plan less DD - I get like that if I plan too much...cos nothing ever goes to plan:rotfl:Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Daph, you would do the same as we did when I lost my job (I was the main breadwinner),you would manage
I hate wishing each month away, waiting for pay day :mad:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Aww DD - I can totally empathise with you on this one.....I hate the feeling of being out of control.....
I have just offered DD1 £30 to help me clean the house from top to bottom..
She said okay but this afternoon, she hasn't stopped all morning....what she means is she hasn't stopped running around after boyfriend all morning. I am supposed to be working from home and all i have done is chat online:eek:Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Yes, but appearances can be deceptive you know. She might not be as in control as she appears. I apparently give that impression, when in reality, I'm flapping like a headless chicken, just trying to make ends meet

DD she probably looks at you with your lovely son, your good job, your new found driving freedom and your lovely bloke and thinks you have it all going on... count your blessings hun... i'm not saying "get over it" or anything so harsh, but wishing things were different is futile...
and anyway too much change is a bad thing so enjoy the status quo. renovations can wait!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

Sammy I am supposed to be working at work and am online :rotfl:
Yes you never really know what is going on behind closed doors, do you. I just keep saying to myself 'of course her hallway is spotless, she doesn't have a snotty, dribbling teething 11 month old!' - oh but she will
I'm talking to a lady about having my house cleaned for 2 hours a week today
Spud you're right and it has happened before, but that was pre-DS - actually I panic because my salary minus nursery fees = not that much, but at the very least if DP wasn't working we wouldn't be paying childcare. Ok, I won't fret too much knowing that and I could increase my hours or take on extra work from home (I am registered with AQA and Usborne books!) - things would be hard and different but not so bleak perhaps...0 -

Oh Maz you are so right, that made my eyes leak a little bit. I do find it very easy to look on the grim side of things. I get petulant when I haven't had enough sleep, and I haven't had enough sleep since before I was pregnant  thank you for the reminder, and it is so important to be grateful for what you have and we are healthy and mostly happy and we eat well and are warm and our clothes are clean - what do I care about her perfectly co-ordinated walls and rug and woodwork
(desperately tries not to scream BUT I DO I DO!!!!)
