El and Miz, welcome back - always good to have you about. Now get making plans for that debt busting! We are women on a mission don't you know.

Recession is biting - even Woolies have called in the administrators - £385 million in debt  I had my best ever Saturday job on the record counter in Woollies when I was at college. It is quite sad to see its demise.

So what good is a 2.5% reduction in VAT going to do the economy, if even cheap stores like Woolies are going bust

The chancellor needs some basic economics lessons.

its risiculous isn't it. its sad to see british institutions like woolies going down the pan. but i think woolies has been far to diverse in its stock for the last couple of years, selling some of everything but not enough of somethings if that makes sense. It should all be pulled back to what they were good at. Definately not liking the pre budget report though. sounds a little in with one hand out with the other to me. x

That was my question. End of an era. And what a horrible Christmas for 30000 people who work there. Hope they can salvage something for them.
