Hi all...have been 'out of the loop' so to speak for the past couple of weeks...so much going on that the mfw journey has faded into the background to a large extent...but back on the straight and narrow now and full steam ahead! :j
my insurance cheques cleared so i have officially...for the first time in about 25 years... no interest charging debts other than my mortgage!!
i have stuck (as much as possible due to circumstances beyond my control) to my budget, sent back the forms and cheque to change my mortgage to repayment, ordered all my seeds for my veggie patch (some are for immediate planting in my greenhouse so should start saving me cash very quickly!!) and eaten pretty much from the cupboards and freezer for the month so far (will be able to do the same this week too!!)
i have had the odd disaster...car decided to die yet again and cost me another £200  ....but have had enough savings to be able to cope with that and avoid the nasty cc!!
so, perhaps not the start i had hoped for but all things considered, i am pretty happy with the start of this long road ahead!!
hope you are all well...:D0 -
Welcome back, all fine here ta.i have stuck (as much as possible due to circumstances beyond my control) to my budget, sent back the forms and cheque to change my mortgage to repayment, ordered all my seeds for my veggie patch (some are for immediate planting in my greenhouse so should start saving me cash very quickly!!) and eaten pretty much from the cupboards and freezer for the month so far (will be able to do the same this week too!!)
Sounds like you're doing well to me! I've been living out of the kitchen store this month too, amazing what you find hidden away:rolleyes:

hello all!!:D cheque for changing to repayment has been cashed so hoping it has been converted by the time next payment is due on 22nd...that way i can get the first op done...its sitting in my isa at the moment!
smlsave...fennel, aubergine, beans, beetroot, swede, sprouts, celery, chillis, peppers, broccoli, leeks, kale, tomatoes, cucumber, butternut squash, carrots, cabbages, sweetcorn and parsnips are all on the list along with a variety of winter and summer salad leaves. I am unfortunately going to have to restrict access for the puppies in the garden as they have developed a habit of getting in the raised beds and destroying everything!!!:rotfl:
shouldn't laugh really but if i didn't i would probably have to murder them!!
stuart...thank you for your kind words....the image of my mf date is just the best thing in my head at the moment!! thats one of the reasons that i am so desperate to get my mortgage converted...i feel sort of in limbo until that has been done...i just want to be at the stage where i can phone them at any time and make an op...however small!!:D
unfortunately, i have more expenses this month than i anticipated due to fil's ill health...400 mile round trips have decimated the spare cash i was hoping to pile into my first op but i am going to work extra hard next month to make up the shortfall!
i have decided that from next payday (22nd this month) i am going to post on here everyday until christmas...(sorry chaps, i'll probably end up posting drivel on your threads too!!!:rotfl: ) just to keep my eye on the ball and see how much difference it can make....my target of £600 op by dec 22nd is looking difficult at the moment, so i am hoping that i can still do it using this method! Oh, and by quitting smoking...:o never seem to get that under control, but will have extra motivation when i start my op-ing :A0 -
I find posting very motivating for me, probably bore people but never mind. I like reading everyone's threads as they're full of tips and info that are so useful.
