The fog lifted here a couple of hours ago  and it has turned in to a glorious day. I've been sunbathing and reading magazine whilst DD's played until DD1 trapped her finger in one of the chairs and screamed the house down  Bless ... she was really brave and has now recovered with extra plasters and big cuddles.
I've done a meal plan to last until next Sat :T and am just going to take DD's swimming before drawing out weekly budget and getting the shopping that my meal planning resulted in - minimal compare to what I would have bought had I not meal planned :money: I've also worked out debts and updated my thread on DFW board in advance of mortgage payments etc at end of month :T:money: - giving myself big pats on back cos have really slipped since March and getting back in control feels good

Been to the beach and there were people sunbathing in cozzies!! Also little kiddies in the sea. We had a lovely time there with the dogs then went and sat outside a pub for a nice lunch time drinkie biggrin.gif.

Tea is spag bol from the freezer so that is sorted. We'll have a salad with it and I'll use up the last of my salad leaves from the pot on the kitche windowsill.

An evening of Strictly and no doubt some film. Was sorry to see on the internet that Paul Newman died today frown.gif. He was 83.

    afternoon all

im off work till monday, am feeling the strain of working, being a mum and running a house but will get there in the end, my neighbour very nicely did my ironing for me yesterday (bad of me i know) untill i get into a better routine of getting everything done, am off this friday comeing and boys will be with childminder so it willbe my next catch up day, enjoying going to work though did feel guilty at leaving the boys yesterday lunchtime (my childminder texts me to let me know how there getting on and yesterday said about them running in etc)

i have a dumb os question , i know making own stock is better and less waste etc but i cannot help thinking its more expensive to have the gas on for the time its being made over buying stock cubes (can anyone shed any light if this makes sense) my gas bills are still high despite no heating being on (my dd's have hit 130 a month for duel fuel with bg)

have chicken noodles and sweetcorn for tea tonight (cheep and cheerfull)

Tired-Mum sorry I missed you - it is Burnham on Crouch torchlight carnival

Troo - thanks for that, am going to try a joint of pork from the slaughterhouse next week and if we like it will order 1/2 pig

Dogrose - I also missed my VIP slot yesterday, glad really I said to myself would look at stuff for Xmas only but I know a lot more would have fallen into my basket

Aussie - sounds like you have Mr Sympathetic there :D (did make me chuckle about your childbirth story though) ((((hugs)))) for you

    Lots of luck Heidiboo.

Well we have decided to go to the carnival early and have some chips for tea, means we will have more choice of parking and where to stand.

Have done loads of ironing today and only have o/s what is drying. No housework was done though.

Oops need to get a move on

    Afternoon, back again.

Hi to Churchmouse, Aussie & Catowen :hello:
Not seen Shez around for a while though.

I have got an Impossible pie in the Remoska at the moment and it smells lovely.
Sausages for tea and I might have another go at flapjack, the last attempt sort of fell out of the pan and folded over...so I've had to eat most of it.

Floss, I forgot about the sewing machine shop in Cleveleys, I only drive past it 4 times a day  I know the one in town closed down.
    Heidi, good luck.
Aussie, Heidi was the sort of girl AussieLad was referring to, in labour and mucking out horses :D
Sybil, sounds like you enjoyed your trip out.

Love and hugs to all The Twit. :grouphug:

    Hi all

It has been a busy week for me. School is back in full swing. A fellow teacher lives in the same town as me and so we're sharing lifts. Not only is it saving me petrol, but also general running costs in the long run (ie I won't have to get new tyres as often....). She's not necessarily a great friend, but it's an arrangement that works well for both of us.

We went to watch my "boys" last night. My car share buddy dropped me at the station so that I could get the train across, where DH met me as he works in Leicester. Sadly, they lost but at least I was there to give them support.

Today we've had friends over for lunch. I made chilli con carne and the friends brought pudding with them. Perfect and very money saving! It was good to catch up with them as they've just returned from Canada as one of them has recently had an interview for a job over there.

Tonight we're meeting up with the parents of another friend (said friend is in Australia) and the friend's brother. I first met my friend's brother when he was 5 and I was 16. He is now 17 and in his final year of A-levels.

Tomorrow is another exhausting day with us going to the Christening of a friend's 5 month old baby. Other friends are coming to us first before we head over to Oxfordshire where we'll meet more friends for lunch before the service. I'll be glad when I go back to work on Monday........ for a rest!

I hope that everyone is well.

    Take care

It's been glorious here, but my back is killing me from too much gardening. Took DS swimming this afternoon. In the middle of cooking roast chicken, one of our neighbours has also given us a loads of winkles which OH is dealing with, I only do prawns!

    HEIDI good luck to you
Someone asked about stock, sorry can't remember who, cheapest way is to do it in the SC, overnight if you have economy 7.

Off to check dinner and get another glass of wine!:D

    Have a good night all.
