  • Morning everybody,I overslept today and just did'nt want to get out of bed when I woke up.It's gorgeous here the sun is shining and it's actually warm.
I'm going to do my washing and get out there and enjoy the weather.Let's face it we don't know when we'll see the sun again. My daughter lives a couple of miles down the road on the coast so it's nice to be able to have a nice walk along the sea front and then pop in for a cuppa. We have an old railway station down there that runs a market at weekends and it's nice to see what things you can find,I always enjoy having a rummage round so I guess that's my day sorted.
MSDiva - do you not need to sleep like us normal folk.
Morwen-You made me feel all sad for a moment reading about your daughter and her friend going to make fairy cakes.I used to love doing this with my daughters and granddaughter.Sadly even my granddaughter does'nt do things like this anymore(I guess at 17 it's not cool)you do miss the little things like this when they've grown.
N9eav-happy to hear you OH got her new job.
Meanmarie-good to know your Oh is being given the care he needs.Hope he continues to improve.Make sure you look after yourself as well.
Troo-get those sheets off the line. After four days your'e probably going to have to stick them back in the washer.
  • Morning everyone, bright and breezy here in CD this morning, a lovely drying day so will get the work clothes washed. Me and DH had a quiet evening with one bottle of wine and are both have upset stomachs this morning, i should know better cause as i've got older wine does not agree with me now.
Had a scout arond the net for tiles yesterday and came upon the upvc cladding for bathrooms which is obviously waterproof, and warm to the touch, it has an 8 yr guarantee, and is in a lovely range of modern colours.
I emailed the chap and he can supply the whole bathroom for £200 including delivery(thats a really good price judging from the other sites) so i think we might go for that. Also he is local in Gateshead and i like to use local companies, its one of my "things" i think it stems from us being in business until 2000 and you do count on local support! I would love to hear from anyone that has used this in their home and their opinions on it. Might ask in the Diy section before i purchase!! The new shower cubicle is being delivered on Monday so the cladding will be quicker and easier to do than tiling, seeing as DH is working all the hours god sends at the moment. As he is working for an agency he is making the most of it as the job might end at Christmas.
Well today i have no plans as such, DH is coming in at 1pm so lunch will be something quick, possibly bacon and eggs and we might have a look out and about!
MIOLIERE i know what you mean about going on a ranch holiday we would love to do that in the future, unfortunatley i HATE flying!!
IVYLEAF yes our club is great and does a lot of charity work so we have fun and do good at the same time!! DH went for his stitches out of his hand yesterday but it is not quite ready so he has to go back Monday. Thanks for asking.
Off now for a cuppa, have a lovely day all BSB xxx

    Morning all,

Its a beautiful day here, really bright and sunny, but with a nip in the air, I have hunted round and found a dark load of washing, which is in the machine, so will get that out, and the bath mat will need doing as well. Other than that and a quick tidy round there will not be a lot of old style today, :D , going to get little dog out for a long walk, will take lunch with us, and make a day of it.

I still have not been able to find a fur throw for dd's bed for less than £40  , I really dont want to spend that much, they have some on Ebay but they are dry clean only, do you think they would wash ?

Found a holiday cottage in Dorset which is quite reasonable, so we are debating weather to go for October half term, it is a converted barn, which has only opened this year, and sleeps four, so dd could bring a mate, we have to decide today, will think for a bit longer, but I do fancy it.

HM Pizza with coleslaw, and toms for tea, might make a garlic bread too, It will be X factor tonight, and a glass of wine  .

Happy Birthday to Mr Diva, do you think mrs diva has gone back to bed to give him his pressie :D

Rzl good luck today Hun :T , I would love to hear you sing xxx

Marie, hugs to you and your dh xx

Aussie you poor thing, shingles can be painful, good idea to dull the pain with wine :D

Twink be carefull up those laders xx

    Hugs to blairwitch xx

OH makes breakfast on a saturday, Im going to ask for a fish finger sandwich today :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello:Morning!

Still coughing and spluttering, the cough is worse than the cold! Thankfully the weather is still fair and mild here.

wmf - we too have been living on easy to prepare food - bacon or sausage sandwiches and soup from tins:eek: :onot os at all really but at least we ate!

Yesterday our dd moved back in so Mr C who is 3 days nearer to recovery took the car into London to get her and her bits. They have to go back today to clean the room for re-let. My job was to unpack and find room for everything which amazingly we have managed although a bit more is to come in today. We can't get into Mr C's office though!:rotfl:

(((Hugs))) to Marie and Ulick - hope he is starting to improve! It must be so very worrying for you

(((Hugs))) also to PP who has to deal with poor health daily and to Smoky, Candygirl, Blairweech, Aussie and anyone else who could use one.

Happy Birthday to Mr Diva :bdaycake:

:j Postman has just called with a parcel - I won a large jar of Manuka honey in a Julian Graves competition I entered long ago! At last a prize!:D and one which will be really useful for some hot toddies at the moment!;)

Morning all, up early again and got stuck into DH's books for the accountant. It's quite easy as DH keeps all receipts in dated order in a folder, incomings match business bank acc. Now I only have to do the houses we let, income and outcome. We have a lot of expenses to claim for after my Sis (not Dear) trashed the house she rented and left owing a lot of rent. And to think I payed for her to have Sky for 3 years, sort of a running B/day present.

DMum phoned to say she can't come to stay until Thurs.:( Was due to come today. She has received a hosp app for Wed. to have a Vit B6 injection for Phinitious Anemmia (sp). Oh well that gives me more time to finish last bedroom, it seems like it's taking forever but it's a huge room, Last bit of painting to do and 3 lots of curtains to make then it will be done. :T

SMOKY, Love sage green, you could do all of the walls a pale green, or do 3 walls cream and make a feature of the 4th by painting it the same sage colour as your carpet, hang lots of brass framed pics/photos on the feature wall, or even a large mirror to make the room look bigger. Another colour that goes well with sage is, strangly enough, Plumb. You can get lots of colour cards from B&Q, Focus etc. and lay them on the carpet and see what you think. It's all down to personal choice really. When I worked fulltime I would do 3 or 4 different colour schemes for my customers, loved doing it.

We enjoyed our Chinese last night, haven't had one for months, there was so much that we can have leftovers tonight. I'll make a chick in blackbean sauce to eek it out. Bm and WM on hope to line dry but it's a bit misty still.

    MORWENNA, How is your DSis?
AUSSIE, Shingles ouch!! hope you get better soon.
HESTER, They will kick themselves if you leave as they will find out how much you do.
MEANMARIE, Glad you'll have some company with your S. DD.
    MR. DIVA. Happy Birthday
BLAIRWEECH, That must have scared you, hope you're OK now.

Lots of (((((((((( Hugs to all ))))))))))))
  • Catz Not sure if you can use the Manuka honey for that. It's more for sores, burns & first aid stuff. Not that I"m an expert  but that's what I put on DGS hands. I expect if you've gone MIA we'll know it was the honey. :D
    Mr Diva Happy Birthday.
Ruby The cottage sounds lovely. I don't think we went to Dorset. :D
Rzl I was so disappointed. I couldn't see you in the clip. It was just for UK residents. I got some mineral makeup too. ;):D

Well I thought in the circumstances DH would have made tea for me. But obviously one has to be on their death bed for that courtesy. He did dry up though. :D This is the man who told me in the throws of a bad labour, to trust me for making a fuss ( I had to have a ceasar) that woman in China who worked in the rice paddies, would just give birth there and then, strap the babies on their back afterwards and get on with picking rice. Did not go down very well at all. :D

The wine has dulled the pain anyway so I'm feeling rather good. :D Off for a bit of a surf. Nothing on the telly tonight unless you count The Bill as good viewing. :p Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Bootsalebabe - I hate flying, too! I'll tolerate short flights to Europe but don't think I could do a long haul. This is why I have never been to China - another place I'd love to visit!

Well, the sun is beaming here and I am just about to go out and return my ten month old all-in-one printer back to PC World because it won't print!

See you later, hope everyone is having a good day!

Second load of washing is in the machine as it looks like a nice drying day.

Have gone back to low carb eating yesterday and I feeel less hungry than normal.

DDs friend's birthday pressie has not arrived by post yet so will look for an extra pressie for her to take tonight to the sleepover so her friend has something to unwrap!!!

DH is about to drive me to a new Aldi for some shopping so will be dashing off soon.

Have just been very daring and ordered a Remoska Grande from Lakeland.

Does anyone know if the Remoska comes with any basic recipes and instructions or do I have to shell out £10 for the book?

DD(14) was ill yesterday so spent most of the evening and the night till 4a.m. next to her in the spare bed - glad we got it now!!!!!! Fingers crossed she will be all right at the sleepover!!!

Going to get dressed so see you all later.

    Hugs to everybody.

    Morning one and all :D

I've read most of it but forgotten alot as still feeling a bit dozy :p

(((HUGS))) to everyone who wants/needs them and one for me too ;)

We were planning a trip to the beach today however the fog is still here - was hoping it would have cleared by now but quite chilly and def not beach weather  We're going to go swimming this afternoon instead  and then do some baking and make a fridge cake before having lovely warm baths and curling up in front of the X-factor in our pj's

I need to meal plan and make a shopping list - I really think pancakes are the way forward ... cheaper than cheap, can be done sweet/savoury and the kids LOVE them :T I've got some mince that went out of date yesterday - do you think it will still be ok? It's not been out the fridge but has gone a bit brown.

I'm going to save the housework for tomorrow as it's not looking too bad at the mo :T:cool:

What a lovely chilled out day for us :D:j:D

Hope everyone has fun whatever your up to xxxx
