    Hi all

I found the report I mentioned yesterday - link here - to save you time, here's the gist:
A recent study found that people who are overweight have a lower death rate than people who are underweight, normal weight, or obese. Researcher Timothy Church explains the new evidence linking certain diseases such as diabetes and Alzheimer's to specific weight groups.

Like Bails, what I consider to be my ideal weight would be overweight according to the BMI charts, I'd score 26/27 (but I'd be happy with that!) :D

    LL
    Start BMI - 38.7 Current BMI - 31.2 Target BMI - 26.3
  • dates for a meet . . assuming spring comes after easter i can't do . . 16/17 may, 23/24 may; plus i've got another event floating somewhere in there.

didn't do the roly poly and had less than 1/5 of the pastry of the pudding which was v pleased with. Starting to feel that the exercise is doing something now, i can feel it in my muscles. Only a teeny bit because I'm not doing that much but it is a real incentive to stay good!

    Hi All,

Am I allowed to join please?

I know my weight is over 18st but am not sure of how much over as have been too scared to look at the scales.

I've been to see my GP to ask her advice and have had a full blood workup done, receiving reslts on wednesday, which will measure my cholesterol, risk of heart disease, diabeties etc. To be honest I'm hoping its the kick in the pants that I so badly need.

I will go and weigh tomorrow and post my weight but will wait to see what the dr says about about what a realistic target it. I am also going to ask to see a nutritionist to try and reducate myself.

    Al .
    WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbs
    Weight today = 17st 6.5lbs

Hi kiwichick, welcome! Of course you can join, have a look at the first page too for inspirational stories and useful links, I tend to revisit there when I'm struggling. Well done on going to the GP too, I remember how scary I found that!

    Lovely to meet you,

    Jay xx

hey everyone. Im in a bad mood, i wanna scream, cry and punch someone, preferibly all at once. Gotta learn how to spell preferibly too.

Anyway :) i missed the two minutes silence on sunday cos i was watching something for the weekend. Switched over and they were playing the last post. Opps. It was quite funny because matt was late from work because a farmer found an unexploded bomb from world war 1/2 and he had to call the mod down! what a day of all days. Turned out to be an unexploded (if thats the right word) smoke mortar. Good job too cos the farmer kicked it right in front of matt.

anyway on my other downer, i had a letter on saturday saying that we cant park our car anywhere on the development. A residents permit which would be a bout a 5 minute walk away from home would cost us £475 a year. The clampers are coming thursday morning at 9am sharp. So we gotta park our car somewhere, who knows where. To top it all i was meant to be getting my washing machine today, but the lazy !!!!!! who i wanna punch in the face drove off before i could get down to the door because they didnt want to get clamped as it is their responsibility if they do!! Matt was told that the store would ring them back.. did they? no. So i rang another useless !!!!!! who is going to re book me in. Have i heard from that !!!!? no!

So to sum it all up we might not be there for that long. I only took the flat because the lady who sold it to us said that we could park on site and now we cant. Im not paying £500 to park my car 5 mins away from home, in a dodgy multistory car park. Be great coming out of that on my own at night.

    so yea, im pooped off.

oh another thing! Matt and i about two years ago bought a computer that cost us about £400, we were both part time then so it was alot of money for us. Well now my mum and brother have decided that they are going to move the computer upstairs when its sodding mine!! Its got all my stuff on it. I know i use the laptop 90% of the time, but i use this comp to do my photos and play the sims ect. Got some dodgy photos on here aswell so i hope he hasnt found them.

but yea, i dont think its fair to just give this to my brother. Maybe im being tight but it was alot of money for us, and hes getting a computer for nothing. Tell me im right... someone?? heh

i feel a bit better now ive ranted...kinda. Still wanna punch someone and cry though. Thank god matt bought me chocolate earlier!!

    Hello kiwichick. You've joined.

You don't need to post what you weigh (unless you actually want to) just let us know each week what you've lost. Even if you've gained still tell us what the damage is ... it helps keep you focused. Well that's the theory anyway.

If you put the weight loss/gain in big bold colourful font it helps whoever is doing the chart. Good luck, and keep posting.

    Hi Vix

Could you not take the computer to your new place? It would give you the chance to 'clean it up' if nothing else. Tell your mum and bro that you need it as Matt sometimes need a computer whilst you are using the laptop. It would remind them that it's yours and you could decide what to do with it afterwards.

Had a similar prob myself. We used to live with my parents until a few years ago and just before we got our house I had to buy a new microwave for our kitchenette. When we left I said mum and dad could use it as there was a built in one in the house. Visited a few weeks later to find the microwave on the drive in the pouring rain. Mum had decided she didn't like it and chucked it without asking if I wanted it back. Annoyingly a couple of months later the built in one broke and I had to get another!!!

Bad news about the parking too! Blooming silly that you have to pay so much for a space when the flat is supposed to be affordable!! Do they really think that someone like Matt who probably works shifts could manage without a car?

    Hello Kiwichick and welcome.
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!
  • awwww vix. thats a real bummer. tagz's advice sounds good about the computer. Have you gone back to the lady who did the deal with you on the flat - you can't go on misrepresenting to people like that, it's just not fair.

can someone look up a couple of syns for me please? Thats the drawback with this food diary thing, i don't always know the syns . .

cornflour, tesco cheese ravioli(G), branston vegetable ravioli(G). thanks in advance.
