Just back from the job hunt, the lady at the job seekers centre was worse than useless and I was very disappointed in her, she told me such daft things like 'always go for a job not expecting to get it and if you do great' or 'go for the job even if you only have 25% of the skills they need' or 'put managerial skills down (I once supervised two young kids while the boss went to the dentist, managerial skills:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ) anyway the sad thing is that I DO not get an assesor, I wanted someone that pestered me, kept ringing with this and that job and kept me on my toes until I secured a position but oh no can't have one of those because I am not on benefits, so put me on them I said (I lack self confidence and independent drive but once I get in the job and going I am fine told her all that and asked for an assesor) no because your OH earns too much:rolleyes: so no help there, sign this form to keep the numbers up (hers to justify her job) off you go and so long:rolleyes:
Went to TKMAX filled out an applicatin form for temp xmas staff there and then went to other places and kept asking, name and face around now so hopefully someone will remember to call me:D0 -

What do you think?I think it sounds great. I also think I need eggy bread asap, I hadn't even thought of that. Brilliant!
I have no idea what a remoska is... Google is my friend.
Funny that Moroccan stew is still en vogue.
Last night's tea was Quorn sausages, mash and beans (free).
Lunch today was pasta and sauce with onions and quorn pieces (free)
This morning's brekky was 2 toast (HeB) with a Laughing cow light (HeA)
Two more bread with whatever is for tea tonight should wrap up the other HeB, and milk in coffee throughout the day should wrap up the other HeA. Like shelling peas lol.0 -
Sorry to hear that victory, sounds like she REALLY knew what she was doing!
Remember not to sell yourself short, but to go through all the skills you do have (managing a home=time/money management, organisational skills, initiative to solve problems, etc) and translate them into employer speak, to up your chances. We did all this stuff at uni but it's common sense really,
good luck, I'm sure you'll find something soon, hopefully from one of the forms you did todayJay, xxAnytime;)0 -

I do like it, but I've 'banked' almost 50 hours and not sure it's going to hold my interest for much longer. Apparently if I sell now, second hand ones are going for almost as much as a brand new one on ebay! So I have to admit that's what's tempting me to sell early...Plus it would make the treadmill I've just bought 'money neutral' which could only be a good thing... still thinking about it though.
I've bought my son some limited edition Revels - coffee flavour is out, mystery flavour is in! Probably going to have to have a few (calorie counted within my allowance of course!) to find out what the mystery flavour is0 -

I knew there was a reason why I was procrastinating
I like your thinking Sir!

we have it twice a month without fail ajax. Such a lovely flavour (oh, and the morocan stew is delicious too...)
Victory - very disappointed for you. It is so frustrating that you can't get the help you deserve. But you do have proven skill at persistance. Good luck with the xmas apps - it's a starting point.
As for the council tax - welcome to the wonderful over-priced south east:rolleyes:I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi All,
I am so glad to see here are others out there like me, I found my weight such apain, I was a chubby Kid but played sports! then as soon as I turned Eighteen I found my perfect Weight and for Three perfect years I was slim and loved it, I then went on to have Identical twins and was amazed that I left hospital and STILL fitted into my Size 14's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but soon afterwards as is so common when you have babies the weigh crept on!.
For the next eighteen years I would lose apound or two only to put it and more on! the I lost Two Stone when My mum died suddenly, then no matter what I did Weight watchers, Slim fast etc NOT A POUND! I found myself approaching my daughters 18th weighing the same 18 STONE! I was distraught I didn't eat unhealthy things or sweets but still I couldn't lose weight! I then took the Bull by the horns and went to my WONDERFUL Doctor, I talked through it with her and explained that I DID NOT want Surgery but I just did not know what else to do, she explained that it is quite common for this to happen and no one knows why, She then went on to put me on a tablet called Reductill which PLEASE NOTE IS NOT A QUICK FIX but it helps you eat when you are hungry and stop when you are not.
I had to return every four weeks for blood pressure checks, and in my first month I lost nearly a Stone!!! I could not believe it! She then took me off the tablets to see if I could lose on my own and guess what I have lost TWO STONE since and am so grateful to her I now eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full I see what I was doing wrong as well! my portion sizes were WAy too big and I ate too fast amoungst other things.
So now I hope to continue losing weight and I feel so good about myself now, and then I found your board!! lots of ideas and friendly people to boot.
I know that I had help to start but I am doing this a;one now and I do not advocate surgery etc but if there is anyone out there who is having the same trouble maybe my tale will help.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to reading everyone elses,
Sandee xxx:T :A :rotfl:0 -
Hi everyone, I am back from my trip to Belgium and have had such a laugh reading through the last 5 days posting! Alex is back:j, Victory is on the game - or not:D, and most of you have been very kind and strayed from the diet path so I wouldn't feel so bad about confessing all my eating sins whilst I was gone!!:j
We did have a nice time however didn't realise that it was a feast day (All Saints Day) on Saturday so everything except for one bakery was closed! No shopping for me and it was the main reason I went:mad:. The bars however were open so we survived on beer and bread the whole weekend.
I havn't weighed in yet, will get weighed next Monday so hope I will be able to do some damage limitation by then. I am going to stick to Mix2Match untill then as I find it suits me and I don't feel deprived.
Today I am having/have had:
Breakfast was a sachet of oat so simple with frozen blueberries and a yogurt (heb+free+free) plus milk in cereal and coffees (hea)
snacks morning and afternoon will be scan bran cakes (6.5 syns)
Lunch is homemade celery soup made with celery, onion and potato and served with wholemeal roll (free on green + heb)
Dinner is slimming world recipe cottage pie with butternut squash/swede topping, carrots and brocolli (all free) and sugar free jelly mousse (2 syns)
And the really really good news is my swapbox arrived today!:T:TI am so excited and can't wait to open it! It has been signed but I can't figure out who it is from!:j
Sorry for the long post
Love
