The meal may have been sitting heavy in your stomach, I bet that evens out by tomorrow! :)

Cheesecake all gone now, my son had the remaining 5 slices, I wasn't even tempted! I'm not really close to 1750/day this week. It will be more like 1650/day but I'm not going to eat beyond my appetite just to make the quota, that would be silly :)
  • Morning Missy, where is everyone else?

    Today I am having:

Breakfast - bacon, eggs and hashbrowns (free)
Lunch - Hot pork sandwich with mashed potato and mixed vegetables (free+heb+2syns+free)
Dinner - Ribeye steak with prawn skewers(need to eat these as have been in the freezer for almost a year!) with rice (free)
Snacks - fruit and yogurt with milk in coffee will use up my hea

Hi everyone and welcome to any new peeps in my absence!

Raph, get news about the size 12 trousers, fab!
KPC, I find it amazing you had to get a size 18 coat - it never fails to amaze me how weird sizes are and how many bodyshapes there are out there. I hope it's lovely and warm. Fantastic loss too :T
Hugs Beanie, hope you're feeling a lot better by now and that the meds are improving for both you and Dragon.
Serendis, you make me laugh! Great to keep a lighhearted perspective on things
:rotfl:at the pretending to spit out pretend food, what are you lot like :rotfl:
Ooh Lois, travelling plans are well advanced now, bet you're excited!

Thanks for all your lovely good wishes and support, especially when I haven't been around much recently. I was on holiday initially (in Morocco) and this is when my leg flared up. I'd had the cat scratch (well, more a claw sunk right into my leg actually :rotfl:) for about a month by then - it wouldn't heal but I didn't think too much of it as my body doesn't work so great anyway. Halfway through the trip I woke up feeling as if I had a bruise mid-thigh (cat scratch was just above my knee) but no sign of anything; I laughed it off joking that OH had been practising shiatsu on me in the night (he does genuinely do this sometimes ). Anyway, it just got worse and worse, v painful, big red patch over top half of my leg and a big hard swelling just near my groin. V long story but went to docs in Morocco and had ultrasound, came back to UK and had 2 lots of antibiotics (2nd lot made me severely ill), went back to doctor and he sent me to hospital! The thought was I had an abcess which would need sorting under general anesthetic but after 4 days in hospital and finally another ultra sound, they discharged me with no treatment  There is no abcess, my lymph nodes and surrounding fatty tissue are severely inflammed, probable cause 'cat scratch fever' and 'it will heal itself...eventually' (but it'll take much longer for me because of my weakened immune system). A month usually so two months or more for me. So I'm still in lots of pain, especially because of where it is. I'm allowed to do a bit of exercise but every time I've tried so far it flares up. More than anything I'm just gutted that I've just got into a lovely routine, really enjoying doing some home tutoring for a boy who has my illness etc and then his happens
Anyhoo, onwards and upwards as ever :D OH left for Prague on Friday so I've been home alone all weekend - the cats are desperate to sit on my lap after my time away but they have this uncanny knack of standing right on the very sorest point :rotfl:If I could remember which one of them infected me they'd be for it ;)

  • Bails, great to have you back - crikey what a to do  I do worry about medical care when abroad, but it sounds like they looked after you just fine. When I was a kid and we had cats, any scratches seemed to be quite itchy, red and slightly swollen and I've always been quite 'tough', so with a reduced imune system I can see that they could be quite dodgy.

Marion, your dinner tonight sounds great, I'm planning cold ham, mash and pickles because we have alot of ham that is due to run out of date.

Just had a bacon muffin for lunch - need to get back to the rest of the wrapping.

Hi Bails. Glad to have you back and brilliant that they decided they didn't need to operate. I think you are great letting the cats back on your lap. If I were you I'd eye all of them suspiciously and shoo them away! .

I'm glad you didn't need the op Bails. Thanks for telling us what happened, have you had any bad reactions to this type of thing before or was this just a freaky one-off accident? I'm a bit worried that there's a danger of it happening again - how many cats do you have at the moment? Anyway hope you have a smooth and fast recovery :)
  • Glad you're back Bails - sounds nasty.
I've had a manic week - busy at work and then the in-laws for the weekend. They are lovely - but try so hard to not be any trouble that it gets quite exhausting.
I have done a Christmas lunch today for 10 (all his family and a mad Aunt that lives near us), and only one person brought a bottle of wine - I did the full works, and felt very undervalued and taken advantage of!
My OH knows how I feel - it's not that I want massive gifts etc, but a show of appreciation would be nice. The biggest drinker, of course, is the one who never brings anything!
It must be that everyone does things differently - in my family we all pull together and bring things - on Christmas day they are all coming here and already we are talking about who will bring what.
One of the perils of having the biggest house lol.
Oh well - all over for another year!
I am struggling at the moment with weight etc - my eating seems to have calmed down, and all the dog walking should be helping but things seem to be very static!
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........

Hi Fitorbust, I'd be a bit miffed too! Sometimes all you need is to feel that the others appreciate your work.

So what has everyone else got planned for Christmas? For the first time ever Christmas Dindins will not be at my parents' but at mine! I've got to cook for 15 and it will be the first family do with my brother's fiance and her daughter. So no pressure there. Actually it was my idea as I thought Mum would like a rest. Who knows maybe sis will offer for next year! It's one in eye for her as she has been constantly 'joking' to my friends that I don't lift a finger to help at Christmas, when in fact she helps Mum with the food whilst I look after the kids and get eveyone drinks and set the table!! Not my choice either, I keep asking if I can help but am told to do the usual. Well at least this year I can choose who does what.

Anyone heard from Vix recently? Maybe I've just missed her posts but can't remember seeing much from her since she was off her food.
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!
