Morning:D arguments have started already in this house whether to go to the shops or not:rotfl: if only the kids knew how little is in there they would agree with me that it is best to enjoy the day in watching catch up doctor who:rolleyes: at least the lack of pennies will not bring the lush food in the house too early and then I eat it:rotfl:
Got the dress off ebay that I bid for the do next weekend it is brand new next long black dress and it is truly awful, just hangs there like a big black sack one of the horriblest if there is such a word dress I have ever tried on but I have it and am not going to buy another one so am trying to maybe put a sash around the middle or a belt or a scarf or something that does not make it look like a big black maternity droopy dress, it is bad:rolleyes: the length is there has to be ankle length but the dress yuck0 -
Sorry to hear about the dress Victory, do you have a neighbour who could help you "tart" it up a little bit?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

That's a shame Victory:(. Hope you can do some magic to it.
Re the jan influx - I think we should all congratulate ourselves for still being here at the end of the year. And our newbies can pat themselves on the back for not waiting for the new year feelig to start tackling their health & well being:T .
We went out for our 1 xmas do last night... it's probably not fair to mention the phrase deep fried brie, so I won't:D . Special night out aside, I am serious slacking again in the sticking to plan. I think it's fatigue and some boredom , not always escapable in life, and then general human enjoyment of fat & sugar. If I could just get more exercise:mad: . Oh well, I know what I need to do, just stick to sw, but I don't seem to be able to stick to it more than a few days at a time. But today is day one, which is all I can do.
kpc - thought of you on Thurs when my OH came home with 2 woodpidgeon someone on the farm where he works had shot. Felt very self sufficient having them for dinner:D .
Plans for the weekend are to go to an out of town shop to buy bits and pieces for my mosaic making, avoid the town centre like the plague and do some bulk cooking.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
There are some awful "advisors" around.
Work put a health check on for people last month and I went - I hate being patronised - I've overweight and don't do enough exercise I know, but I eat generally ok - but the guy automatically went into his "fat person = chips/chocolate/pies" lecture. Told me I should only be eating root vegetables, fruit traditionally found in Northern Europe, game meat and no wheat. Oh and apparently I only need to do 20 mins of weight bearing exercise 3 times a week and the weight will fall off :rotfl:
I got my own back though - he took a lung capacity and blood pressure test - and it was much better than he expected :j.
Sometimes it does these so called professionals good to actually understand what it's like on the other side - and stop thinking that it's the same problem for everyone - life is not that simple or straightforward.
We all know what we should be doing - and there are ways to encourage people to do it without demoralising them - it's hard enough for most people who are overweight to seek advice without being made to think that you actually understand more about the subject than they do.
Hi Fredsnail. I get annoyed too when people assume things because of your size. When I was getting sponsors for the Race for Life a 'friend' said 'What you're going to run without stopping? I'd pay to see that!'. Mare!
Was out at a do last night and told my friends about the nurse and one of them told me that she saw a little child come out of her room bawling his eyes out. My friend was next and when she went in the nurse told her that the child had started crying as he was nervous about his vaccination so she threw him out without having it! She is an absolute charmer.
Hi Vic sorry to hear about your ebay dress. Try thinking of it has a blank canvas of which you can customise and create a truly individual dress. At least it's too big and can be altered and not too tight. I once had a similar experience, ebay dress bought for an occasion turned out to be horrible on, but in my case it was too tight and made me look like a floosy. My OH didn't think it was so bad but I hated it! I put it in the recycling box only last week.I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -
Should have eaten more mince pies, reporting 0.6lb loss this week on 11366 calories.
I have 2 sit down Christmas lunches for work next week, both 3 courses with brie/pate type starters, and profiterole/gateaux type puddings, so at least I have even more lbs in the bank.

Hi all
I'm back and still in one piece!I wrote a post yesterday evening but lost the lot and then didn't have time to start it all again. grrrr @ t'internet !
We enjoyed our trial run with the caravan in Peterborough - the weather was kind to us, we had a few teething problems with the water and heating but managed to sort them out, and now we're raring to go. No tenant yet, but we've got someone viewing on Monday so fingers crossed again.
Today was Day One yet again for me - green day today, red tomorrow and let's see if I can be on Day Five by Wednesday!
Thanks for the chart BB - I missed 'missing' the chart being posted on Wednesday, sorry to hear you had problems, I bet the air in your house was blue.
Have a good weekend.

Glad to hear your trial run has left you wanting more lois:j . Hope you get a tenant sorted soon. As for the air turning blue - I was a perfect example of calm ladylike behaviour I can assure you:rotfl: .
FFM - your task this week is to eat a little more me thinks?
pcl - how you doing? I know you said earlier in the week you'd given up bashing yourself up about food for now, but I wasn't sure if you meant that was enabling you to eat a bit more, or you would wait until you were with your sister to work on a better balance? I know your have said you are obese, but of course, to your body, starvation rations will mean it will start hanging on like mad to the fat reserves. I'm very glad to know you will be somewhere soon where you'll get a bit of extra care that you need and deserve.
2 more things set to sell today and tomorrow on ebay. One didn't sell last week and I relisted it at a lower price and now it's reached the price it didn't sell at before:T . I will have made over £50 by the end of the weekend over the last few weeks.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Told me I should only be eating root vegetables, fruit traditionally found in Northern Europe, game meat and no wheat. ONLY those foods?!!!
Yes only those foods - no dairy, potatoes or wheat products.
Good job I know what a sensible diet is.
Vic - I'm in the same problem have bought several dresses from ebay and they all look dreadful - sack of spuds comes to mind - and I'm dreadful at sewing so adjustments aren't really an option. I'll be relisting after Christmas I think- I hope you find something nice or can get it adjusted.
LL - glad the trial went well.
tagz - amazing that the nurses are considered the caring profession when some are anything but.0 -
grrr, i just posted a long reply and it got bounced - told it was 'too short'. can't face putting it all in again so the gist is. . . thanksfor that check marion, i shall be investigating the possibility of making my own marinated beetroot now. and glad to hear fredsnail had enoguh sense to see that 'advice' for the rot it was - but the worrying thing is, how many people might not have done, and taken it all to heart, going away feeling rubbish about themselves?0

With 2 Christmas lunches lined up this week that shouldn't be a problem
I've already started with a custard filled doughnut - just got back from Tesco's and am starving - I'm batch cooking a homemade chilli con carne for tea tonight so it will be a while. Bulking up with lentils and oats to minimise the lbs and £'s - very mse.
