Congrats Studentmidwife :) Glad the chart worked in the end BB!

Haha - I remember the January influx last time!!! Any January joiners still here? :)

Have a great weekend everyone - anyone got anything good planned?
  • lol marion, i think the same. You feel very virtuous making your own stock, but i'm with nigella that granules or concentrate are fairly similar - I've even learned to live with bovril stock as part of sw.

Got some luscious beetroot in a pouch tonight - baxters make it. They do chilli and lime and garlic and rosemary. i'd like to think it's synfree, but it's worth trying because it's just wonderful.

Hehe you joined the day before I met my target FFM! :D How's your week been this week?

I'll be close to using the whole 1750/day this week, which I have to admit is because we cracked open a couple of the sweetie treats which came back from our August holiday ;) Have been rationing them through the week though.

I haven't been on the scales since Monday weigh in, I feel heavier with TOTM due but I'm not in the mood to find out what the damage is (even if it's only temporary) :p
  • Wow just had a look at the chart and realised I'm sotw :j :j :j .

Off out for a meal with parents tomorrow and then boozing with my mate for her birthday so hope I can keep on track!!

  • Foodwise my week started very badly with an indian takeaway and 4 mince pies. I've only eaten another 3 mince pies since last weekend so I have improved. The work christmas do I was due to go on was 'cancelled' as I had to work late, so the calories I had been saving during the week have not been used.

If I only have my usual evening porridge before bed my calories will have averaged at 1650 per day this week.

My weigh in is in the morning, so I'll report back tomorrow. Not alot of exercise as usual this week - but lots of stress (which is okay 'cos I quite like work-stress, keeps me buzzing :D )

Went to see the nurse recently for blood pressure and weight monitoring and found it a bit weird to have a lecture from someone who is more overweight then myself and reeks of smoke. She started off the session by telling me how unfit she was and that she had just scoffed a pack of biccies and then told me I needed to up my exercise regime (I run 5K each Sat and do 30 mins exercise each night) and eat apples instead of bananas as they are too fattening!!!! I couldn't take her seriously.

There are some awful "advisors" around.

Work put a health check on for people last month and I went - I hate being patronised - I've overweight and don't do enough exercise I know, but I eat generally ok - but the guy automatically went into his "fat person = chips/chocolate/pies" lecture. Told me I should only be eating root vegetables, fruit traditionally found in Northern Europe, game meat and no wheat. Oh and apparently I only need to do 20 mins of weight bearing exercise 3 times a week and the weight will fall off :rotfl:

I got my own back though - he took a lung capacity and blood pressure test - and it was much better than he expected :j.

Sometimes it does these so called professionals good to actually understand what it's like on the other side - and stop thinking that it's the same problem for everyone - life is not that simple or straightforward.

We all know what we should be doing - and there are ways to encourage people to do it without demoralising them - it's hard enough for most people who are overweight to seek advice without being made to think that you actually understand more about the subject than they do.

.Mince pies - mmm - I havn't had one yet but it one of the things I am really looking forward to!:j

    My plan for today is:

Breakfast - fruit and yogurt with scan brans (free, free and 2.5 syns)

Lunch - egg, beans and slimming world chips (free, free, free:D)

Dinner - Chicken breast with mixed vegetables and rice (heb, free)

Snacks - 2 alpen lights (heb) and fruit through the day (free)

Late night - 2 glasses of red (12 syns) Which makes a total of 14.5 syns for the day

    Love
    Marion
