Morning all. Rabbit is so hard to find now victory. None of the supermarkets appear to sell it any more. It's funny why we as humans react differently to differnt meat. I've never had a dog but I really wouldn't want to eat one (unless world catastrophe hits our shores and we're starving obviously). But bunny, no probs: I eat lamb after all and they are cute. I'd certainly try rabbit, even more so it it was free food!
MArion - I used to make SW carrot cake with scan bran which is clearly a close derivative of your recipe. I've substituted plan old bran (like sawdust, not the cereal)now becasue scanbran is so expensive: the following is my lunchbox sweetmeat:
5oz grated carrots (sorry, I cook in metric usually but I've never converted this bit)
50g bran
2 eggs
2tbsp mincemeat
1tbsp honey
1tsp mixed spice & ciniimon & nutmeg
Mix in a bowl and place in a 6-8 in cake tin (anything you would use for flapjack.
Bake for 15 mins then cover with foil and cook for another 20 mins. Cut into 8 Really nice sweet treat and 12 syns for the whole thing, so 1.5 syns per slice.
Well done on setting your target babykat: it's good to accept what you would be comfortabl with rather than straining for the impossible and making yourself miserable.

Hi everyone! Having a good week here
This is my third week at 1600 kcal/day, my highest weekly calorie intake since Dec '07 (not including holidays!) One more week after Monday's weigh in, then I can review things again.
Exercise is going well, I'll be doing less during the winter months (approx 3-4 hours per week). Schedule this week was:- Monday - Swimming (my normal breaststroke, plus crawl & backstroke practice)
- Tuesday - Long cross country run 1h 45min (stop/start because I was taking a few piccies, consulting a map etc!)
- Wednesday - Shorter local cross country run 40min (continuous run)
- Thursday - nothing
- Friday - gym multi equipment session 30min
- Saturday - nothing
- Sunday - 30min of something, don't know what yet!
BB, belated thank you for the cheese recommendation, finally got some this week and was pleasantly surprised that it was 40 fewer kcal per 100g than my usual 'lighter' cheddar
Chart looked excellent with loads of losses and people back on track this week, well done folks!0 -
Congrats FFM, I always look forward to seeing your stats each week! I know you wanted to reel things in a bit this week and you've done just that! (Are you still doing the cycling by the way?)
Thanks Missy, I only succumbed to one lot of fish and chips and 65g of 70% Green and Blacks dark chocolate- the rest of the week was nice and healthy.
Sadly, the cycling has taken a back seat now that the evenings are too dark to cycle home - part of the route is unlit and through a nature reserve with lakes - the word 'splosh' springs to mind.

.
medication is so annoying, when i was taking the higher dose all at once it wasnt even that i was hungry, just that i had to eat. i could ahve just eaten dinner an hour before taking it and then i would want a bowl of pasta or some other heavey carb thing. consultant wasnt prepared to accept that as an unlive withable side effect though.
the leg pain it causes is an unacceptable side effect though, and annoyingly splitting the dose hasnt sorted that out the way it has the cravings. what i really dont need with only a few weeks before i go on holiday is messing about and trying to find a new pill that works. *sigh*
sorry i didnt intend to come here and moan.
next week is going to be abd as far as weight goes, two meals out have to be done, thankfully i managed to convince my friend a 3rd would be overkill in one week.0 -

Pcl, you're not moaning, you are saying how it is at the mo, and therefore making it easier for the rest of us to know it's ok to off load when life is tough.
I get a lot of unpleasant side effect too from meds too - never a straightforward option: you have my sympathy.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Hi,
I've not had a chance to read the whole thread, but I thought I could tell you what possibly helped me loose some weight.
I'm generally healthy as far as food choices go but:
Firstly, I cut out caffeine. This has helped me twice - but it was probably a combination of things too - I doubt just cutting this out would help at all. I think the key is that I was drinking more water and herbal teas.
I try to eat fibre rich foods and minimize white bread/pasta. Go for the wholemeal/wheat versions. It has helped my digestion.
As far as quantity goes. I never consciously ate less. Just better foods. And I take my time eating.
Everyone's different tho - so I've probably just told you what you know already.Looking forward to the future.0 -
Thanks Babs, always good to hear what has worked for others.

Afternoon:D trust we are all well, nephew says he was listing everyone and just went ahead and booked tickets, so he is passing the buck (had I know I would have put my name down:rolleyes: ) brother says nothing to do with me not organizing it, sister says did you not tell nephew you were interested (how could I have done? ) etc so depends who you talk to as to what rubbish they come up with:rotfl: :rotfl: bottom line flights booked all going not me end of never was asked:rolleyes: done as Gordon Ramsay says:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I made chocolate muffins for the kids, the eldest said they are the best he has ever tried and could I make sure that when I make some more they are the same ones (man of few words but they count:D ) they looked terribly sickly sweet to me but they loved them:D
Bought some white bread to have in the house to test myself, madness I KNOW but it has to be done because I have to be able to confront the devil:rotfl: got it yesterday my head knows it is there but so far been fine with it, more irritation than anything and have not a slice or should I say in my case 6 or 7:rotfl:
Got the 2 tins for £7 from Asda also, they only had quality street left so got 2, kids found them and keep going on and on to open them but not until xmas she says hopefully:D0
