Evening all, glad you got the washing machine at long last vix. KPC, squirrels:eek:, I don't like the things but don't think I could butcher and eat it--rabbit though, yumyum. Thanks for the couscous tip FFM, hopefully my local one has some in tomorrow. Intrigued about the low fat cheese BB and missy, sounds good.
PCL, sorry to hear your difficulties with the medication, you're doing brilliantly just to keep trying with that on top of the usual attraction of food, leg pain sounds nasty too, hope you get it sorted. Vic, I hope you get somewhere with the family soon too, I tend to avoid get-togethers with mine, I find the tension too difficult, so just see them individually and enjoy my friends and little family the rest of the time.

I've had an interesting few days food-wise, what with graduation and having visitors here, we've eaten out loads. I've just eaten what I felt like, but overall think it was moderate, not weight-loss amounts, but not weight-gain either. Had sweets n crisps last night:o though but was then really sick in the night:rolleyes:, I still feel rough, but slowly improving. If nothing else, weigh in will be interesting this week.

Have a lovely evening everyone, jay xx
    Anytime;)

I think it was the sainsbury 'be good to yourself' half fat mature cheddar Jay (conversation was some time ago). NIce strong flavour (can't see the point of mild cheese)
Rabbit & cider & dried prunes in the slow cooker and nearly dinner time:j . Will have with mashed roast squash and green veg.
Your family are driving me mad Vic, so goodness knows what they are doing to you. They just don't seem to hear you saying 'no one told me about the get together' do they. It's the being left out that hurts I know, even if you know you're better off with out the stress & hoohar.
Babs -thanks for your thought: really helpful. Sometimes it is about small doable changes I agree. Eating 'well' is important to me too.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I think everyone is different and you just have to sensibly look at what you are really eating. Snacks for bordom, eating when you're not hungry etc are no nos. Choosing lower fat options or eating smaller meals throughout the day and little snacks - like wholemeal toast and houmous/marmite/low(ish) fat spread whenever you're hungry works better.

Don't concentrate on loosing weight. Concentrate on heathy choices that don't mean you are left hungry or depriving yourself of treats.

(I also ALWAYS have a stash of frozen vegetables, which are great with healthy pesto or pasta sauces on some rice or jacket potato)

    Looking forward to the future.
  • Hello again Babs.

Not sure how much of the thread you have read so far, many of us are at different stages of our WL journey, and we have had lots of different challenges and successes. This thread is really great supporting us in different ways.

I completed my weightloss almost a year ago using the Rosemary Conley GI Diet - really worked for me, I ate well, lots of great food (OH and little monkeys enjoyed the food too).

All the lovely peeps here keep me on track as a maintainer. Oddly enough I find maintaining my new weight more of a challenge because I often feel a 'lack of achievement' when I weigh in and have not lost weight - this is a really silly thing because it would be unhealthy for me to lose any more - but who says 'logic' is part of this journey  .

Anyway, keep popping in, it's great to hear how you are getting on. Any questions, just ask - others are following 'healthy eating' regimes in preference to 'dieting'.

    FFM :)

Good morning everyone! I am delighted to report a STS this week :D (11084 cals, 1583 average/day), 4 hours exercise.

I even had my weekly 'heavy' meal yesterday (supersize pasta bol :p) just as an experiment, this is the meal I would normally have on a Monday AFTER weigh in! So to have that on a Sunday and still STS is ace :D

Jay, sorry to hear you weren't well, hope you're feeling much better today :) The cheese discussion was ages ago, IIRC I was having trouble getting my usual brand so I got BB to recommend me another as she's a mature gal like me (no jokes pls) - then I had trouble getting THAT one :rotfl:

FFM, when I do my maintainer weigh ins now, I also take an average of the previous 4 weeks. I get more of a sense of achievement seeing that things have 'evened out' over the month, than I do from any single week's result. In the past 4 weeks I've got -0.25lb which I feel really good about (I know I am busy upping my calories so I have an additional challenge). Don't know if something similar might work for you? Otherwise maybe try getting an old 'before' photo out when you weigh, I should think you'll feel a sense of achievement then ;)

Yucky weather. Skating today I think! Good luck with weigh ins everyone this week!

Hey everyone, hope everyone is ok.

As for eating rabbit, thats a no for me too. Last night i had a chinese (only because i dont have a tin opener) and as i ate my chicken and mushroom i had a pang of guilt of eating it and not knowing how well it was raised.

I've done 2 loads of washing. Only had to ring my mum up once to ask her if pink was ok in a white wash. (it is very light) I did a black wash too, and im avoiding the rest of the washing basket cos its all different colours.

I have completed 4 peoples christmas presents!! mums, matts brother, matts mum and matts nan. Im quite pleased with my self. Bargains are everywhere though, its lethal getting so much discount.

Well done missy on the increase of calories, im very pleased and glad its working well for you!

P.S got four weeks to do my dissertation. Im stuck on 3,000 words. It doesnt make it any easier by having to come back to my mums, and having to use another laptop. My old computer is in my brothers room so i guess thats the end of that one!

    have a good day everyone!

  • vix re the washing, i do dark colours with blacks, and lighter colours (like pale pink, blue, yellow etc) with whites. if its something i think might run, because its new or only been washed once or twice it goes in the blacks with no other lighter colours, just in case.

im glad the increased calories and the heavy meal before weigh in havent resulted ina gain missy. well done.

well done and good luck to everyone else too, i am reading and i do care, but someone seems to have stolen all my words along with my concentration so replying is not happening, doesnt mean i dont want to though.
