so today's the points decider day - anyone any ideas how long they will take to show on current clubcard balance. I know they will come through on the next statement in Feb but I keep track on my growing balance online and on till receipts.0

what a shambles.....money that I paid in 5 days ago and showed as cleared from my bank account on 25 November has now been sent back from Tesco to my bank account for no good reason thus reducing my balance on the crucial day!!0

hi i opened internet saver accounts for both my missus and me, got 27k in my wifes and 50k in mine from the sale of our house.
I have a old tesco clubcard, i cant see where i have to register it on the website?Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
Ricardoro Are you sure you got the bank sort code and account number details right? That is the most likely reason for Tesco to have returned the funds.
stolt As far as I can remember, you would have entered it when you opened the account online in the first place.0 -

Thanks Marky and Yorkshire for your comments.
The sortcode etc were correct. My bank tells me Tesco had the money then returned it by BGCredit.
Have just rung Tesco CS again, they were more helpful and said they would investigate the bouncing money.
Less encouraging was her comment that as I have several Tesco accounts (incl Clubcard Plus) , my recently opened Inst Access and Internet accounts were not new accounts, and would not qualify for points. I corrected her that I was not a new account-holder, but that these were by any legal definition new accounts. She added my comments to her list of things to be investigated!!
Heres hoping; I sometimes begin to weary of having to fight almost every organisation that offers promotions then
seeks to renege on them!0 -

I did, but I dropped lucky...

They rang me today to tell me that they've manually checked my account this morning and I qualify for the points.
CSA did confirm they're compiling a list (of all the late depositers) and will submit this to the ClubCard team in early January. The points won't appear (for them, and me) until then, but WILL be on the February statements.0 -
My CHAPS deposit has now been returned! They are complete muppets (not the first time I've said that).
They gave some !!!! & bull excuse about not being a clearing bank - as if that has anything to do with the price of fish. Most building societies are not clearing banks either, but manage to accept CHAPS transfers.0 -

Some providers (eg Egg) will furnish you with a different sort code/account number/reference for CHAPS payments and, as you say, some won't accept CHAPS payments.
Was CHAPS really a cost effective method anyway, or did timescale force you down that route?0 -
CHAPS was really a cost effective method compared to BACS.
£50k @ 6% x 4 working days saved (over a weekend) = £32.88. Cost of CHAPS = £20.
They do not make it clear that they do not allow CHAPS. To quote their FAQ:Q: How do I pay money into my Internet Saver account?
A: ... You may also send your funds into your account electronically, either online or by bank transfer
CHAPS is a method of electronic bank transfer. All proper savings institutions will accept funds via CHAPS.
My bank, Barclays, will not transfer £50k by BACS either - it's above their (apparently top secret ) limit. So there's virtually no way to transfer large amounts of money to Tesco's pants account.
I've sent them a cheque. Before you tell me that's not acceptable either, I have no feasible alternative. If they reject that, I'll take them to the FOS.0
