  • I've had loads of problems trying to get this account setup!

They have been messing me about for weeks.

I opened up the account in mid october, they have taken money from my bank account and put it into the tesco account and still i an unable to get onto the internet banking!!

They have sent me 3 letters asking for my signature, each time i have sent it back and then they send another letter asking again.

    its doing my head in.

now its going to take another month before i can even think about taking any money out as will have to request a card reader and pin.

Still no card reader or card on my wife's account - ordered 2 weeks ago today.

And I hadn't ordered a card reader on my own account - d'oh! That's the account I want to take the money out of, too. :(

I managed to open my last night it said that in principle they have opened an account but I have to wait for paperwork to come. How long is that going to take?

Mine took 3 weeks, plus another week for the PIN to arrive. And that was before the Xmas mail rush!
I was a little annoyed that we hadn't been informed about the need for this card reader before I tried to transfer some money. It prevented me from opening a fixed rate account elsewhere, as the time it took to receive all the relevant bits to access my own money took so long that the fixed rate account ended.

I applied for mine on 3 Nov and it took 3 weeks for the account number to arrive, so that I could put money into the account, but it then took a further 2½ weeks for it to be fully operational (registering and card reader), so for me a total of 5½ weeks, but for others I think it's taken longer than that.

i started the process on 14th october and the account is set up, but still no card and pin received i requested them initally on the 1st november (the reader arrived ages ago - 10th november, they have allegedly already sent out 2 pins/cards, and on the 3rd request now!!

i did receive one card but no pin came so i chased up and they advised there was a problem with that pin distribution on that one,

however they advised they are not able to send out duplicate pins/duplicate cards, and have to request a new one, so dont ever loose / forget your pin on the reader, as they will have to send a new card and new pin

i know its not my post as nothing else has gone missing, and each time i called they have confirmed there has been problems with the pin/card productions around that time.

my last call to chase it was on the 5th december and they assured me i would recive it in 7 to 10 days and that the person i spoke to would personally monitor it - surprise surprise, no card/pin as yet

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Apparently the reason it's taken so long is that they were absolutely inundated. Should have realised really that offering mega points when there are so few about just to bung some money in an account would have opened the floodgates!
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D

It's still paying 6%, and falling to a (still very respectable) 5.1% in early January, so unlikely to be any time soon?
