Martin has just updated his page on this
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/tesco-savings
We have to leave the money in until 31.12.2008 to guarantee the points. This is great news as I didn't get mine in my account until the 5th Dec but my wife's was in time. :money:If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Anybody know how many Tesco points it will take to get a card reader?
I will definitely have a high enough balance in on the new deadline date of Dec 31st, because at the moment I can't take the money out. 2 weeks ago my card arrived, 1 week ago my PIN arrived, maybe there will be a card reader waiting under the tree on the 25th!
In the time it has (not) taken to get my account up and running(Start date mid-October), I have opened and started to use 3 new savings accounts and a new current account!
STOP PRESS! It's arrived! Santa has come early. I am now a fully fledged bona fide Tesco Saver.0 -
Amid the general chaos of opening these accounts, Tesco lost my £1000 in-payment for 30 November.
I have just heard back from Tesco with their excuses, but more importantly, they confirm that the promotion is strictly limited to COMPLETELY new customers and only ONE account per person, neither of which details were properly spelled out in their promotional material.
They say " I am sorry if our literature was not clear enough" and have given me 1000 points as a gesture.
Other MSE'ers might like to claim similar treatment,
if they cannot get the full entitlement.0 -
Is anybody else having problems logging on to the Tesco Internet Saver. I get through the logging in process with setting up my new password etc and each time I go through it is saying they are having Technical Difficulties. This has been the case for the past few days I have tried. I have spoken with Tesco but there is no problem with my account... any ideas???
This would be my first log in... although I cant see that making a difference for the Technical Difficulties.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Also... the mention of cards and pins is confusing me as I have never received either... should I be getting these with the Internet Saver???:j Baby #1 due 25/02/11 :j0 -

Not sure how to help you with the log on problems you're having as I haven't experienced any myself, (I can't remember what the procedure was when I first logged on after registering - part 1 and part 2), but as far as the card and reader goes, you will need these if you wish to make any withdrawals from the account. You can request these once you've logged on (if you ever manage to!).0 -
got my letter for the internet account today. says i need to registar for personal banking and says to go onto the tesco site. yet all i can find is a link to login not to actually registar. can someone point me in the right direction0

Hooray I bought something today at Tesco and at the bottom of my receipt are 1500 points marked "TPF BONUS POINTS"! Booyah.
I'm very happy I opened this account because after the comments on here I almost wasn't going to. They've got one of the best interest rates at the moment and yes although it was a bit of a pain to set up, I was patient and there were no problems. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
I have tried to open an account with them but it will not accept my sort code. It is a HSBC stnadard 6 letter sort code.0

I experienced some "technical difficulties" also, but these seemed to correct themselves within a few days. Rang Tesco and they couldn't see what was wrong and said they could access my account OK.
You will/should be sent an internet card and password to use with the card reader which you have to apply for online when your account is set up. If you can't navigate to the correct page, ring Tesco, ask them for a card reader and you'll get all 3 items sent to you separately ... they say within 15 days.
You need the card reader to set up any "linked accounts" which you may want to transfer funds to and from. You only need to use the reader, card and password once to set up each linked account and can have as many as you want. There is a page you can navigate to showing you how to use the card reader or ring them up and they'll go through it with you.
Hope this helps.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0
