I agree, Lidl's smoked salmon is a good value for money. Bargain 200gr for £2.59!!!0

The Schogetten chocolate bars are really good I think you can get them from either shop but definetely Aldi. They are about 65p for a big pack and are formed into individual squares so you can feel as though you are eating proper box chocolates rather than just a bar
especially the praline flavour.
They come in loads of varieties including nuts, praline, white, milk, kids (milk chocolate with white stuff in the middle) and some others. The chocolate is delicious and smooth, I actually prefer it to the major brands. Ok will stop now as I am making myself hungry!0 -
Aldi white Choceur is great. The chunkier big bar is best, but they also have it in the mini choc bar x5 size. Only 99p or so for the big bar.Looking forward to the future.0

The big winner for me is milk at 69p for the standard bottle - 85p or 86p in Marks & Spencer and Tesco. Eggs are also excellent value although beware the box quantity as it is 10 and many other shops sells in 12s so do not do a direct comparision (but the saving is still good). Dishwasher tablets are also excellent value (and acccording to Which? do the job really well too!). Flour/cornflour are also cheap - a standard bag of flour is 43p.0

It's even cheaper from the tap! Agreed you can't get carbonated water from a tap, but I will never understand why people buy bottled water!
yet me muvva is literally only across the road & hers is lovely. Mind you, we're also on a totally different electricity grid & we can have a power cut & her place is lit up like Blackpool Illuminations
I do use a water filter jug tho, so only buy bottled if I fancy a bit of sparkle in my life

I used to work beside an Aldi so was used to popping in most days to pick up fresh foods, fruit, veg etc. Prefer them to 'big shops' as some have so much choice you end buying things you didn't go in for. My problem now is that DH shops with me and heads straight for the 'Toy department' in the middle, I often find his 'bargains' added to the trolley when we get to the checkout, I suppose we are still saving money but it comes out of grocery budget instead of his pocket money!
At least someone is getting a bargain...:)

We do buy the occasional thing in Lidl or Aldi when on a deal, but in my experience many things are in fact more expensive than in Morrisons / Asda / Tesco and even Sainsburys for some things.
Don't think we'll be converting any time soon.
Definately agree with this. I buy very little in there but occasionally buy thier own sliced loaf for 85p and whatever veg is on super6 type offers. Otherwise, pretty much everywhere else is cheaper. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
