Hi,
I've found Lidl very good when taking a faulty item back. They should at least replace it with another if they've still got some, or refund (if you paid by card take the same one back). The receipt might help, but usually the specials are peculiar brands so they don't always need them. Worth a shot anyway.
Cheers,

Went to ALDI today and got :
leeks 39p
pears 59p
potatoes 69p
All on super 6 deal;)

I tried the Aldi Extracts Ginger Shower gel.
Now I have used the Body Shop, which is lovely, zingy and smells good.
So when I saw the Aldi version at about a tenth of the price I thought I would try it. It is better than the price of 59p would suggest, it smells good, but just doesn't lather up that well or leave my skin feeling that nice afterwards.
So I would say it's OK for the money, but it's not that great.
I bought something similar in Lidl, which was about £3.00. Smells great and has the added bonus of being paraben free (usually get Burts Bees at £14!). Will definitely buy again and the strawberry marshmallow sweets are ace - if not a bit sickly when you scoff a whole packet in one!:D:rotfl:0 -
Hi all.
Went to Lidl today and mangoes - 29p each, redbush tea - 99p, Fun size bananas - mine were large actually - 7 for £1.09, Wholemeal large pittas - pack of 6 - 39p, Muller rice - 4 for £1.00. Have joined the Feb grocery challenge so pleased with my bargains.0 -
I always go to Aldi for my bread and smoked salmon. The "other half" went shopping to one of the big supermarkets the other week and got an own brand and main brand version of the bread I get form Aldi; both had flimsy slices, I couldn't cut any slices in half properly after popping in the toaster, they just crumbled. He then bought two 100g packets of smoked salmon at £1.99 each which, in my opinion did not compare to Aldi's. 2 & 1/2 slices in one pack, just about 3 in the other! The taste was okay but nothing special. With Aldi I know I'll get a good amount of slices at a good price and for me, tastes the best.
I also tend to get some cereals there too which the kids love.
I get what I call "proper crisps" the hand-cooked variety which have great flavours and are cheaper than other supermarket versions.
I like the wines too, which seem to be at reasonable prices.
Although I make my own sauces for bolognaise etc. I'm going to try Aldi's and if they're good will get a couple to keep in the cupboard.
The only thing they don't seem to do now is the hexagonal shaped packs of serrano ham & other continental meats. I thought these were great tasting and great value.0 -
I bought a box of frozen breaded haddock fillets from aldi can't remember what the correct wording was on the box but roughly £2 to £3 a box they had haddock & some other fish can't remember which one, they were vile square portions of layers of processed muck won't be buying them again.
I know for that sort of money not to expect much but normally i find aldi very good but wont be buying that fish again0 -
