Re Lidl ^^^ I had the Granny Smiths before Christmas and still have some in the fridge and they've been perfect!

Went in last Friday and they had Lurpak 500g for £1.50, short ish date though.

  • In my area we just have lidl and found there own brand washing up liquid really good. Its the W5 power gel in 500ml and only costs 59p but works even better then the leading brands. I've tried supermarket own brands, leading brands and thought i'd give this a go. At half the price it's worth trying and if you don't like it then it's not a huge loss but if you like it, it could save you loads! Each bottle does 250 washes and i've had mine ages!

I done our first Aldi shop last Saturday and i'm hooked. Def going back every week. It's worth the 15 minute drive rather than going to Morrisons which is a 2 minute drive! I bought loads of fresh meat and it's been perfect at half the price of Morrisons. We've had the tin toms, beans, fruit, veg. My son loves the cheese curls which taste the same as quavers and the cheese thins which are exactly the same as cheddars. There are more bags in each pack and they are cheaper so i've figured that I would have some left over each week therefore every 3rd week I wont have to buy any snacks as we will just eat what's left over! Bonus.... Actually excited about going back this week, yes saddo. Oh and I love the yogurts and my son eats the baby ones fine. Thought they would be a bit cheapy blamangey but they're lovely yum yum yum.... Oh and the hot cross buns, they were half the price of Morrisons and twice the size :-) Normally spend anywhere between £60-£80 a week with is extortionate for 2 adults and a 21 month old and last week at Aldi I spent £50 and all I needed to get was milk as they only had 2 pinters but Farmfoods were doing 2 x 4pints for £1.50 so bonus :-) Do love a bargain :-)

Got a food hamper for Xmas from my mother this year where she'd stockpiled lots of their gourmety type things when she'd seen them on sale.

The greek-style cheese stuffed peppers in oil in a jar are lush, and we got a few pots of their honey mustard and pouring mustard that seem to have vanished incredibly rapidly and oh has put in absolutely everything!
