We always buy W5 dishwasher tablets from Lidl they are excellent and less that £2 per box, thats half the price that they charge in Tesco etc.

And the W5 rinse aid and salt are great too (most sensible salt container I've seen and generous amount of rinse aid).
  • A Lidl free range chicken was Sunday lunch for 4 yesterday really full of flavour, stock from the frame made into a vat of roast pumpkin tomato & pepper soup.

The spare meat went into chicken leek and sweetcorn plate pie, today feeding three tonight and enough for 2 tommorow. Very good value (atleast £2 cheaper than Mr T) and so much flavour you did not eat as much meat.

I tried the Aldi Extracts Ginger Shower gel.
Now I have used the Body Shop, which is lovely, zingy and smells good.
So when I saw the Aldi version at about a tenth of the price I thought I would try it. It is better than the price of 59p would suggest, it smells good, but just doesn't lather up that well or leave my skin feeling that nice afterwards.
So I would say it's OK for the money, but it's not that great.
Hoping this year is better than the last. :)

Lidl have Alesto Californian Walnuts 200g for £1.29

These are so tasty!!! I had to go back and get some more bags of them, and I'd only originally popped in to purchase the Lint Bobble Remover, never normally go to Lidl.. Are the Walnuts there all the time as there was a sign that said whilst stocks last..

Went to Aldi at weekend, and whilst I try to avoid processed food the kids like those dairylea dippy things. Aldi have started doing their own version and the kids loved it. The tubs are bigger than the DL ones and seem to have more of the sticks to dip. Normally DD1 has loads of spread left after the dips have gone, but this time didn't. They both said it was nicer than DL and DS said it was "more cheesy". Think it was about 60p for a pack of 3, so alot less than DL (except when on offer) as well.

Baresi Sun Dried Tomotoes £1.19p. Try em these are as good if not the best anywhere.
  • Do the best greek yoghurt I have had outside of Greece!! It comes in a small bucket - can't remember the name - seems a bit pricey but there is lots of it and it is delicious - solid yoghurt!! May not be low fat - but hey we need to live a little.
Dont miss their vine tomatoes - they almost give them away from time to time at half price - whatever they are brilliant.

My favourite things to buy are coffee filter papers, Long Life milk, canned chopped tomatoes
Things to avoid, vegetables seem to have a very short life, ok if going to be used straightaway.
