Haven't been on the puddings or mince pies, but the marzipan bars and Mozartkugeln sold at Aldi are messing up my waistline. Original German stuff.
Another strong buy only for those not on a diet are the German Lebkuchen (big pack, small pack, assortment and "dominoes"), sold at Lidl. And the Baumkuchen. And the little nougat moons. Yay, feels like home.0 -

I think the one on the programme was possibly from Aldi not Lidl?
The Which? report also rated the 2 Lidl ones highly but not the one from Aldi - see link above for the reviews."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

Thanks to competitionscafe - checked 'Which' link to find it must be my (already purchased) Aldi Christmas puds that was, and I quote, 'poison' (Money Programme BBC2) as it's the only one selling for £4.99. Hmmm. Surprising, Netto's cake collection at £2.89 came top, above M&S (also cheaper than Aldi's "speciallly selected"!). This may at least reassure iturner, whose pud came from Lidl (phew!). Am assuming no chance of refund!?0

Thanks for the reminder Schamansky - I've had to stop buying the marzipan bars from Lidl for the same reason, but I'm having one for a Christmas treat :j
hurries off to add it to the Lidl shopping list... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hoorah! Aldi have redeemed themselves - got money back, so thumbs up for their returns policy (did not mention 'poison' comment by Money Programme, as thought it might alienate me! - just said I didn't like it)
Have now bought Netto's luxury puds which came top in "Which" test (!). BIG price saving so fingers crossed - will report back after Christmas as Netto get so little mention. Trouble is, it'll be too late by then!0 -
I can definately recommend Aldi's version of microwaveable porridge - Harvest Moon Instant Oats. I actually think it's better than the supermarket versions, I would even go so far as to say I prefer it over the branded ones tooMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

My wife tells me that Aldi are cashing in on their new found popularity. Tinned Tomatoes have gone up from 21p to 33p, thats actually a jump of over 50% which is surely a massive jump in anyones eyes. Used two tins in a chilli tonight so that cost 24p more than last time  .0
