I also find Lidl's salmon (in the fridge) is very good quality - my husband loves the Mexican and peppered varieties. The chilled mackerel is also great...
Also, the Landgut bread mixes are fab if you have a bread maker; 99p and each pack makes two large loaves, which taste wonderful.0 -
Lidl curry sauces (Rogan Josh and Jalfrezi especially) are excellent. If I was served this in an Indian restaurant I'd be delighted.
Haven't seen the Thai green curry yet though ?0 -

Excellent...
Yogosan Fruit yoghourt. Not as sweet as the majors/leading brands. Also 1 LITRE for £1.50! Less than half the price.
Organic Cheese. Similar to Tesco Medium Mature Organic in price but a stronger smoother taste.
Fin Carre Edel Bitter 74% Chocolate . Also very smooth and a great taste.
Also, their own brand Baked Beans (Can;t remember name but it begs with a "c" (compino or something like that). Better than Major's own brands and until the last couple of weeks were a lot cheaper. They were 22p a can now 29p! However to be fair Tesco's own have increased from £1.16 for 4 cans to £1.46 over the same period!
Fruit and Veg is also usually far better than Tesco's or Sainsbury but would recommend going earlier in the day if you can as quality is normally at its best then.
We haven't yet found anything that is worse but we are very choosy/picky and only try limited items (e.g. vegetarian, those with free range eggs, organic, milk products from countries with low BSE rates etc).0 -
Lidl : All fruit and veg and fresh meat but not bread
Asda: Bread Hovis usually on 3 loafs for £2.50
Iceland: Frozen food0 -
Aldi Christmas pudding regularly gets 'Best Buy' in food magazines, BBC Easy Cook has it listed as the best this year. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

"Campina".
Not to be confused with Campino; that's the singer of the punk band "Die Toten Hosen".

We go through quite a lot of Lidl's "Freshona" petit pois and carrots in a small can. Really nice, and the little fussy one eats them, too0 -
I've been back quite a bit recently.
I can now also vouch for:
Frozen Very Fine Beans - a total bargain at 89p for a whole kg considering it's usually at least a pound for about 150/200g for fresh ones. They are very tender and tasty.
High Juice Blackcurrant -very fruity
Nuremburger Sausages - as good as my local German gastro-pub's.0
