Not to be confused with Campino; that's the singer of the punk band "Die Toten Hosen".
I saw them when they supported Terrorvision and I love Hier Kommt Alex on Guitar Hero 3!.....0 -
It is interesting to observe so may middle income, middle aged people snapping up the great prices and great quality at Lidls.
For choice I always shop at Lidls and only go to Asda/Tesco for the things I can't get at Lidls.
Netto is a very unpleasant place to shop. Unfortunately there is no ALDI close.
Lidl good buys

Going back to the original topic of this thread:
LIDL
I like:
Any dairy products, especially bio yogurt, and olive spread.
Jars Pesto
Dried apricots
Olive oil
Frozen fish
Sardines
Fruit and vegetable juices
Porridge oats
Weetabix lookalike
Rooibos tea - several flavours
Green tea - several flavours
Christmassy cakes and biscuits
Baskets and small trolleys. (Don't like the big trolleys - if you're short, you can't reach down to the bottom when emptying them at the checkout.)
Also, my two local branches accept credit cards, though I believe many branches don't.
ALDI
I like:
Non-bio clothes washing liquid
Smoothies
Fruit & veg
Pasta sauces
Indian sauces
Chilli flavoured pasta - only available occasionally, as a special offer
Chutneys
Small trolleys
Emptiness of shops, and room to maneouvre trolleys, compared with busy Tesco
Don't like:
Lack of baskets, for small amounts of shopping.
Incredible speed of checkout operators - no time to pack your bags without feeling you're holding up the next customer.0 -
I forgot to mention, also good at Lidl:
Strong white bread flour
Frozen tuna and salmon - often on special offer
Dentalux sensitive toothpaste - my dentist has remarked on the lack of tartar on my teeth since I started using it.0 -
just been to aldi's - finest range irish cream liquear 70cl only £4.99 instead of £6.99, don't know what it tastes like but for that price even if you use it in your coffee or better still hot choclate it's a bargain:beer:0

I shop at Lidl regularly and I can also say that the baked beans are as good as the famous brands. The tinned tomatoes are also very good.
We tried the petit pois/baby carrots for the first time yesterday and they are also very nice. For anyone who likes filter coffee I can recommend the Bellarom Espresso in the black tin. Its got a good strong flavour and at £1.39 its cheaper than the major supermarket brands.
I buy their fruit and veg, and as long as its stored properly it keeps fresh. HTH0 -
What are the nappies like at Lidl? I usually use Pampers but I'd give them a go if anyone recommends them. Ta!0

I've used aldi's and lidl's nappies and they are great. Sometimes though asda do pampers at about the same price, when the boxes are £8 I'll buy them then.
Hope this helps0
