Anyone had any luck with this? I am going to try my luck tommorrow. I just don't understand this RPI business. It would be nice to have a link or something to refer to in a letter/email stating that the increase is higher than the minimum set.
Can anyone out there help at all?

we need someone to ring oranges executive office and ask them, and post back on here !0

I have sent this to Orange via their online email system:
Dear Sir/Madam
I notice that the terms and conditions have been altered regarding photo messaging. All photos will now cost 30p to send to other mobile users from 1st November 2008. I believe that this is to my detriment and that I am entitled to terminate my current contract without penalty in accordance to the terms and conditions set in sections 4.2 to 4.3.4. As I understand it the price increase for the photo messaging is exceeding the current RPI figures published by the National Statistics office within a 12 month period. I would like to issue my cancellation notice and also receive my PAC code so that I can transfer my number. If this is not possible to do through this channel please respond so that I am able to follow the correct procedure. Kind Regards
A. Non
Just so you all know, I used more sophisticated grammer in the actual email...this is just a copy and paste
.
I don't know if there is anyone that I would be able to speak to about this on a Sunday. Also, the terms state that it needs a cancellation request in writing, but I don't know if this means an actual letter or if the email I have sent through the website will be recognised.0 -
I think proving the excessive part is the problem, Im on Orange but have not recieved any informatioon (via bill or text)
When I do I will look into cancelling, dont want to try and be told your price isnt changing.
re Dan :- no offence but if you are wanting to cancel you have to be prepared to go and try and find out if it is possible, not rely on other users here or on HDUK to do the legwork for you. If you want you should ring the executive office, not egg someone else on, or cant see what the otelo are saying and not dig deeper. Not getting on at you but if everyone does a little bit, gets information, contacts and quotes orange and then we share it all on here, we will have a better chance of getting a positive result, not just expect others to do this for us.

            Hey Eco,
I am surprised you haven't seen a txt from them yet. It is listed on the website though under their photo messaging segment. I received my txt about 19th September and I think you have 30 days to question it before it is taken as you accepting the change to the terms.0 -
I don't know if it because of the tariff I am on, an Orange Premier one, as it has slightly different benefits and stuff, and when I phoned up the help line, its different to the normal 150 number, the guy was like, "No, no changes that I am being made aware of"
Sure I am due a bill soon, will see what if anything it says, the email address for executive office is executive.office@orange.co.uk but you will need to put your written contract cancellation into writing and post aswell, also the head of orange customer service is a daniel something now I think, will try and find his email address. Best to email exec office and try and get something official from them, then send your letter in, make sure you send your email off with a read reciept and ask for contact back in 7 days so you know your email has been read

I have a question about this..
For example; If you have 6 months left on your contract and you ring up to cancel, do you not owe the network money for the phone?
(If you got a free/subsidised phone as part of the contract)I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0 -
no; the terms and conditions don't say anything about returning the handset0
