I'm interested in the Amazon credit card which MSE is currently recommending. I buy from/through Amazon quite regularly, so I'd definitely make use of the gift card rewards. Provided I make enough purchases to use the rewards I've earned (which I'm sure I will) it'll effectively make it like a regular cashback card for me. So, a couple of questions...
1. Does anybody know if the gift card rewards can be spent on ALL purchases from/through Amazon UK? Quite a few of my purchases are Amazon Marketplace purchases (i.e. still through amazon.co.uk) so I want to know if they qualify.
2. Does anybody know if there is an interest free period if the bill is paid off by the due date, as is common on other credit cards? i.e. Pay the bill in full by the due date and there is no interest to pay at all, provided no cash withdrawals were made?0 -
and since we talking about amazon cc, i would like to ask as well.
If i will use amazon credit card abroad, will it be fee free just as halifax clarity cc?
Ive got a holidays in june, and ive got halifax reward clarity credit card to use, but it will give me back 5£ only, but i know that this card is fee free to shop abroad.
And according to my calculations with this amazon cc i can get up to 15£ in gift vauchers, so i was wondering, is it also fee free to use abroad, or im better of to stick with my old trusty clarity cc!
Thanks!0 -

1 So far as I know, yes, but to be sure you'd need to check the T&C.
2 Yes there is the usual interest-free period.0 -

Don't use it abroad if you have Halifax Clarity. The conversion etc charges will exceed the cashback. Halifax Clarity's about as good as it gets for overseas use.0 -
I saw this on the money show the other day and thought I'd look into it but I have to be honest I'm still not too sure so thought I'd ask you wise people on here!
I'm late 20's work part time and live with parents (due to disability) so I only have general spends but not many 'big' ones. I would say I'm not a very regular spender, I suppose in the middle.
So really I'd like to know what would be the best card for me?
And is the Amex card really that restricted with where it can be used?
Thanks in advance.0 -

I haven't seen mention of the Creation Finance casback card - no fee and 1.5% on supermarket shopping+petrol and 0.5% on everything else with cashback capped at £200
I know Creation is a sub-prime lender but as with the Aqua card, it seems a good offer even for the mainstream market, or am I missing something?0 -

I think the MSE article has got it wrong by not mentioning the creation card too. Many consumers would be much better off using a combination of creation+amazon (or another of the 1% 'reward' cards).
The article seems to generally favour cards with short-term bonuses, and doesn't give enough attention to long-term multi-card strategies, it seems. (the aqua 3% card always used to appear quite low down the page, whereas it should have been the first choice for many people).0 -
