    Hi All,

Does anybody have any pointers as to which address I should use?

    Thanks for your time,

    Sugo
You should use your current address, because otherwise, you will be making a false declaration.

The form will ask for your previous address, if you have been at your current address for less than 3 years - that allows them to put together a longer record of your history.

Incidentally, paying more rent now could go against you, as it means your outgoings form a higher percentage of your income. It's all about your disposable income.
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...

I dont usually post on longstanding threads but as the weekly newsletter has drawn our attention to the Capital One Aspire World credit card (3%, max £100 cashback on spending in the first three months), dedicated moneysavers will wish to grab the extra 15 quid on offer from TCB. If you have already clicked through to the capital one site via the newsletter, make sure you clear cookies or use a different browser for the application or Moneysupermarket.com will get probably get the cash.

Just been accepted for the Aqua 3% cashback credit card. Not very happy that I need to send them further original documents (passport, driving license etc.) or certified copies. I've never had to do that with the 10 other credit cards I've had.

Also, has anyone seen the T+C's? The cashback is paid annualy and is rounded DOWN to the nearest £5, e.g. earn £4.99 cashback and it'll be rounded down to zero.

Beware of the minimum cashback threshold on the Amex Platinum cashback card - unless you reach £25 of cashback (about £3000 annual spend) you will not receive any cashback at all.

This year I've not used my Amex much but am still annoyed that the £8 or so I have earned will be forfeited!

In passing: a comment on one that is there. At the moment the word Santander makes me cringe.
I have about 10 Santanter savings accounts with £1.00 in each of them having followed best interest rate bonuses, now expired, and then had a time consuming job trying to close them. In the end I gave up leaving a dormant £10 pound or so as cheapest way out. So I would never take out a fee paying account with them, which their 123 credit card is, because I have no doubt the benefits will soon decrease and knowing what they are like I don't want the difficulties I predict will be involved in getting away from the fee. Before I would open I would need to know how they react to a request to close the account? If its anything near what they do with savings then no way.

Anyway am I missing something? Is there a review of the two I mention above? If not how about including them. Not a complaint as I love the work you do.

    Thanks

Oh and if anyone knows of an easy way to close a Santander savings account then be sure to let me know. No I don't want to spend 10 minutes on a call centre phone to put on an appointment to visit a branch and discus why I want to close an account that has no interest and only had a pound in it for the last year or so.

I know this is an old post, and let it be said, I hate Santander! My lovely mortgage was witht he lovely people at A&L before Santadner ruined everything!

That said, though their customer service can be poor, Ive found them the best saving rates, btu if you have online banking, at the bottom left, send a secure message, choose the 'account closure' and give them the details of the account to close, and to which (santander) account any balance+interest calculated should be transferred to.

Ive never had a problem closing accounts (also open 1-2 E-saver ac!!!!s every year for the interest), in fact, last time the account was sclosed so quick I didnt get time to print off the statements for my own files!

Good to know re documents. My wife moved from America last year, we're looking to move house and so trying to build her credit rating. I was tempted by this Aqua, but since we get 1.25% on my Amex, may give this a miss for the hassle.

Rounding down of cashback is quite usual, though Ive never seen it down to the £5, cheeky!

Good luck with it though, lets be honest, even if you miss out on a fiver, its fee free, and amazing deal at 3%!

Just got my Aqua card and asked about the cashback-the women said that it was £100 max PER CUSTOMER (not reoccuring annually) and also ONLY UPTO 31st JULY 2012!!

I made a formal complaint that this was not in the T&C's and they are getting back to me

:money:MARTIN-ITES - can you speak to them as this was heavily promoted on MSE, I applied as soon as I saw it, but hardly seems worth the bother nowif you only get about 15 days to use it!

I think you've been mis-informed by a call center operative.

Given that Aqua pays back 3% (up to £100 cashback per year), is there any reason why someone with a GOOD credit history wouldn't also get this card, provided they can pay it off each month? Then once they hit the cashback limit, spend on a card with a lower % cashback.
