I was under the impression that after this cashback would be recorded at their normal lower rate, but my statements are now recording £0 cashback on all subsequent purchases. Has anyone else experienced this?
    Yes, see here.

Will the lower rate of cashback kick back in after the initial offer period?
Yes, but its only 0.5% cashback for the first £6k spend so may be able to do better.

  • It looks like the AA Rewards Plus card is closed to new applications since yesterday. Drat.
  • I recently opened a Santander 1 2 3 and so far so good. As far as Internet goes, go through TopCashback first and get anything from 3-15% cash back irrespective of the card in use. Register your C Card with Quidco for additional high street cash back bonuses.
Make sure you get referred to any of these sites as your friend can get a bonus for referring you.

The 11% cashback Barclaycard Platinum mentioned in today's MSE email looks interesting - one to go for, I think.

I already have a Barclaycard Gold credit card, do you think I'd still be eligible for the Barclaycard Platinum 11% cashback card as well?

Impossible to say how they'll handle applications from people with cards already - worth a try, though.

I have applied but on-line the min balance transfer is £250 (it says £100 in the article).

If you'd left that field blank you could have made a £100 BT during the activation call, as stated in the offer T&Cs on their website.

Perhaps worth recording those T&Cs here for the record:

    Terms and Conditions

Get 11% cashback on all spend until the end of the year when you transfer a balance to your new Barclaycard Platinum credit card.
You will receive 11% cashback, up to a maximum of £100, on all spend made until 31st Dec 2011. To qualify for the cashback you must transfer a balance to your Barclaycard before 31st Dec 2011.
    • Cashback will be earned on all purchases made with your Barclaycard at rate of 11% of the amount of the purchases
    • Purchases which are refunded are not eligible. Any purchases refunded to your card will be deducted from the total of your eligible purchases
    • We will pay cashback on any transactions debited before 1st Jan 2012
    • A maximum of £100 of cashback may be earned. Once you have earned the maximum amount any further purchases that you make will not qualify for cashback
    • Any purchases you make after exceeding your Barclaycard credit limit, or which result in you exceeding your limit, will not be eligible
    • All cashback earned will be credited to your account before your February 2012 statement provided that:
    - You transfer a minimum balance of £250 to your Barclaycard Platinum card when you apply online within your application process, or transfer a minimum of £100 to your Barclaycard Platinum card when you call to activate your card.
    - You transferred a balance to your new Barclaycard before 31st Dec 2011
    - Your Barclaycard account is not in default at the time that the credit is due
    - You have not given us notice to withdraw or to close the account at the time that the credit is due
The offer is only valid if you successfully apply for a Barclaycard Platinum through this site and may be withdrawn at any time

Hmm, the 11% card is being pushed rather hard by MSE. How much commission are Barclaycard paying? £30 each?

I don't think you can really call this is a cashback card at all, since they stop paying any cashback when you've spent £909. That wouldn't even take a month for most people. It's basically £100 for signing up.
