  • Good morning chums , not a very good night as I kept waking up every hour or so. Don't know why, just one of those nights I guess. Ironing is on the agenda this morning , then I must pack my case for my week-end in the north. I am off to Lancashire tomorrow morning to meet up with my cousin from Australia. It will be a first for us both as she has never been away from NSW in her life. Bless her, at 88 I think she's amazing to have flown so far.
My nephew has lots of things arranged for us this week-end.
I have my DGD coming this afternoon for tea, as she likes to visit me when she has been swimming with the school, the baths are only about five minutes away from my house so a bit of TLC from Granny suits us both.
Hope everyone has a good day and <<hugs>> to those who need one.
    Cheers JackieO xx

    Morning :hello:

OH (he doesn't deserve a name on here at the moment, so OH it is) is driving me insane, wish he'd eff off back to work. Had a row last night with him going on about how much he'd done for me in the last hour (!) and me pointing out that I've been up 3 hours before him every day this week (it's normally only an hour and a half  ), sorting washing, tidying etc.

I've been up since 3.30am  I'm back to not sleeping again.

Not sure what's happening today, our friend (well HIS friend at the mo - I want nothing to do with anything that's to do with him lol), rang to say that the pig is now slaughtered, so we'll probably go to pick it up.

    Morning everyone :hello:

First day of childcare course today, I'm so terribly excited! :j And nervous too! I haven't been a student since I was back in Argentina, it's so weird.

celyn90 - What is it that you do for a living?

choccy orange - I woke up at 4 and that was it, no more sleep for me. I am convinced I was woken up by someone banging on the door, which totally makes me panic since we got burgled exactly 8 days ago...

Edit to say: I'm also dropping off an application form at a nursery today, so wish me luck!

PS: Weighed myself this morning..... :(

Sending you lots of Good Luck vibes for your nursery application, hope you have a great 1st day on your new course too. No wonder you are not sleeping too well... Lets hope it was the excitement of your new course and not any 'real' banging. Sending you a hug

Right now i am really awake i am going to catch up with what everyone has been up to.. Its been soooo long since i posted. But i have read occasional bits and bobs. I kind of lost my way,not with my OS attempts but just with things in general.
Hope its ok that i come back and post ? I found it very theraputic before.
furrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:

  • Morning all.

(((((Troo))))) It makes me wonder when others say "I've done .... for you". Do they not live, eat, drink, etc in the same house & therefore use things too...??

Hester, sounds like it could be an entertaining day - someone certainly shouldn't be getting away with that behaviour. Get yourself a cuppa & pull up a chair to watch... lol!
Mellika & Redruby, good luck with your courses & enjoy them too :)
PoppyOscar, you must be bursting with excitement :):):)
Celyn, I think you probably hope it works out for OH's ex as it could make your life easier too...

Rdcchap, sometimes real life takes over & we don't all get here, don't worry about it - nice to hear from you when you can :) And welcome ChocolateOrange , great to have you with us!!!

anyway, must get a cuppa & then up & moving to load my small car with the large amount of stuff my mother wants to take to my sis..... going via MrT for CK bags with any luck :)

(((((((((((hugs))))))))))) for all those needing them & thinking of poorly OH's too who I really hope are on the mend more soon. Have a good day all.

  • Morning everyone

Well I'm showered and dressed - just need to put the war paint on, dry my hair and make packed lunches ;)

Tea tonight will be sausages with passata and tagliatelle.

I locked my bike up at work on Tuesday and when it was time to leave I couldn't undo the lock  So that's where my bike still is... however my friend's OH went down there last night with bolt cutters and has taken the lock off, so I will have my bike back today :T

Well I'd better get on - have a great day everyone

Poppy Oscar - have a lovely reunion with OH :D
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Morning all. A late start for me because I had a bad night's sleep and, like lots of you who have already posted, I had a bad dream but I can only remember that it was about being on MSE! I expect bits of the dream will come back to me during the day. I woke up at about 1.30 and came downstairs because I couldn't get back to sleep and then I slept through both alarms that I had set. I hate starting the day like that!

Anyway, today I have some office work to do - again, and I have to post my Mum's birthday card. It's her birthday on Sunday and I'm going to stay with her for a few days in about a week's time so I'll take her pressies with me then, including the doll I have been knitting for. She's got plans to take me to all the charity shops and craft shops in her area so I shall have to take some money with me and try and combine it with Christmas shopping.DH is taking me there - it's about two hours away - because he wants to service my car while I'm not using it - and Mum's got me a week long bus ticket so I think we'll have some fun. It's a long time since I've been on the bus with my Mum; probably not since I was a child! I've promised to behave myself and not do what my youngest sister did when she was five. We were all on the bus and she stuck her head through the little sliding window at the top of the main window and coudn't get it back out. We had to get the fire brigade out to hacksaw her free! She's never lived it down. It held the bus up for hours! I think my head is too big to do that now!

Dinner will be Spaghetti Bolognese - I don't know what I would do without mince these days! It's so versatile, isn't it? My DH reckons I should write a book called '1001 ways to use Minced Beef'!

(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Candygirl's Dad, Essex-girl's Dad, Beth and her family (hope you're resting today, Beth), Pippa's DH and Mum, Meanmarie and Ulrick and all those with coughs, colds and sore throats.

    Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Well, I'd better go and have my shower. It's supposed to be a really good day today and the weekend forecast is good, too, but it doesn't look too good here at the moment. We had some rain in the night but at least that's stopped now.

    See you all later.

Morning, Mr Twit has finished his contract, so I've not had to get up at 4.30....bliss.

Mellika, good luck with the course. I know just how you feel with the strange noises waking you up. We were burgled several years ago, whilst we were asleep  I woke up to a noise and lay there for a while and then saw the peak of a baseball cap coming round the bedroom door. I screamed and yelled, Mr Twit had to scrape himself off the ceiling and then he gave chase. It was only when he got halfway down the road, when he realised that he (Mr Twit) had no clothes on :rotfl:

Hester sounds like things are coming to a head at work, maybe under the new head things will get sorted, although it may take a while.

Celyn, are you still munching sugar and is Dr Jekyll still away.

Welcome to all our new posters and returnees, good to see Joannasmum yesterday.

Love and hugs to all, esp Ulrick & Marie and Candy's Dad.

    Have fun, The Twit :grouphug:

    Mellika - enjoy your course!
    Poppy - :j :j
    troo - hug for you
redruby - hope your DD and OH are okay
Hester - I can't stand people like that. I'm amazed she gets away with knitting during training - I would have thought that would have resulted in a very hard slap. Looks like it's being noticed though.

I'm an organic chemist, I work with sugars, but I'm just writing up my DPhil at the moment and it's due in in fifteen days  - It's just easier to work nights because there is noone here to annoy me; the lab is very very loud normally as there are 39 of us in a space designed for 24 at the moment, my boss is AWOL so people are mucking about and a lot of the machinery/music is really loud. Normally people would take 4 -6 months off to write, but my boss gives us 6 - 8 weeks instead - he's nice like that

Cleyn - how do you do it, if I dont get at least 8 hours sleep every night I am evil woman, look after yourself.

Oh I look absolutly dreadful :rotfl: :rotfl: (actually someone described me as looking like a cross between Sarah Palin and the guy from "the Shining" yesterday :rotfl:) I'm a little bit irritable (probably too much coffee!) and my mind keeps wandering, but other than that I feel fine at the moment. I'm fine with no sleep for a while - but I get really tetchy if I just get a little bit then wake up. I know I'll pay for it later :o I'm bored and stiff from sitting still more than anything- I think the nightwatch think I'm mad as they keep meeting me doing laps of my floor to stretch :rotfl: cel x

Edited to added: whatatwit - yep, Dr Jeckyll is still away and I bounced one of his e-mails back to him yesterday - our lovely director of grad studies told me to tell him to go forth and multiply in no uncertain terms, but I don't think I have the guts to do that :D Not yet anyway :) He's set up a camera in the lab so he can watch us from Australia - but we've got it trained on a printout of the old TV test-card at the moment. He'll either find it really really funny or he'll big-time flip - you never can tell :)

Morning all, feeling better today, antibiotics have kicked in so managed to have a lie in till 6am.

Must must finish decorating the last bedroom as my DM & her OH are coming to stay for a week on Saturday. I didn't get to do it last week due to DD2's make over. All she could say when she phoned was OMG, OMG, OMG MUM, OMG. Think she was pleased.

BM on and lentils ready for SC. Must make a meal plan for when DM is here, as she is a fussy eater, and shop for it tomorrow.

Will pop into DF's and get some apples from their tree and make an apple cake tonight.

DH is continuing to improve so hopefully will be back to his normal self soon.

MARIE, ULICK, will get specialist cae on the stroke unit, my DAunt had a bad stroke 9yrs ago ( had to learn to speak again) and made a full recovery, she knits, cooks, is a member of the WI and does so much more. Don't try to do to much and rest as much as you can.

POPPY, At last your OH will be home today, don't expect to hear from you for a while ;)

JACKIE O, Hope you have a relaxing w/end, enjoy.

SMOKIE, PENPIN, MRS MIX, CANDY & FAMILY, JOANNA and those I've missed ((((((((((((((( Huge Hugs ))))))))))))))
