OS daily thread Thursday 25th Sept

Hi, this is the OS Daily thread for 24th September. It is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I thought an autumnal sticky colour would be nice today
I'm still at work having been awake for about 36 hrs and not getting an awful lot done. I think I'm half my body mass in caffeine! I did finally get all the laundry done which was good and OH hadn't trashed the kitchen that much, which was a good thing
More fun and games with OHs ex; I *really* don't need it now, but what can you do
OH spent most of his day yesterday filling in forms to go for permanat residence in the UK - he needs to do this now as we'll both be applying for jobs soon and it will be easier for him to prove to some of the funding bodies he intends to stick around here if he has the paper to prove it. It might also help his ex get her residence status confirmed too; which would be very good for her and one weight of my mind at least. Funny how some people can cause you agro but you still hope everything works out for them
Gnocchi, spinach and cheese sauce for tea tonight if the tesco delivary turns up at the beginning of the slot - if it doesn't show until later then it will be cheese on toast depending on if I can be bothered to cook or not that late :rotfl:
Right - must go and do some work *sigh* My head is swimming with numbers... not good, not good... 15 days left
meanmarie - hugs for you and you OH
have a good day all, cel x
Edit - I have no idea how the fonts and the colours changed there! Gremlins again - my own fault for feeding them after midnight

Morning everyone :hello:
First day of childcare course today, I'm so terribly excited! :j And nervous too! I haven't been a student since I was back in Argentina, it's so weird.
celyn90 - What is it that you do for a living?
choccy orange - I woke up at 4 and that was it, no more sleep for me. I am convinced I was woken up by someone banging on the door, which totally makes me panic since we got burgled exactly 8 days ago...
Edit to say: I'm also dropping off an application form at a nursery today, so wish me luck!

Good Morning All
Cleyn - how do you do it, if I dont get at least 8 hours sleep every night I am evil woman, look after yourself.
Mellika - Good luck for your course today.
Didnt get back on here yesterday so hope everyone is ok ((((hugs))) if needed. Had a good day yesterday but had loads of phone calls once home.
OH didnt do much housework but spent a lot of time bleeding the radiators as we have banging pipes at the moment, hopefully that problem is solved.
Today I shall ignore the massive amount of paperwork on my desk and concentrate on getting the house done and the ironing cleared. It will be quite a mamouth task and am already tired at the thought of it!
Had freezer dip on the menu plan to tonight so will have to have a route around in there also.
Well best get on, have a great day.

Haven't posted in a while so here goes.
This week I tried a new gammon recipe I got from one of my books. Gammon in Cider. It was lovely and Oh said that if I wanted I can do that again anytime. So I think I have a result on that one.
The other night we changed the toad's cot to a bed. Well, took one of the sides off. She was so proud of it. She kept pointing at it and shouting 'bed'. I expected problems, but she was pretty good. Stayed in bed and screamed herself off to sleep as usual, even though she could get out.
I can't put her down for a nap anymore and last night she ended up collapsed on top of me snoring her little head off. Usually when daddy comes home she's up and off to meet him. But he got in, shouted hello and walked in the lounge without a flicker. Bless her little heart.
Tonight is possibly going to be soup. I just need to get up town to get some flour to bake some bread to go with it. OH will probably want a pud too. So I will probably do a steamed pud of some sort. Usually its treacle, but I'm wondering about trying something different. Wonder if I can find a sticky toffee pud reciepe?Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

Morning all
Congrats to Mrs MH & hugs to MM & her oh & anyone else in need.
Well today could be very exciting at work, we have a team member Pam, who doesn't pull her weight & it all came to a head yesterday & she got a fullscale bo**ocking, she might just take today off, but if she doesn't then it will be world war 3. The main problem is that she cannot/will not use the computer, they have offered her training & she sits & knits through it. Half of us think she's stupid & the other half thing she's perfectly capable & just manipulative. The problem arose because she was given her job by a friend who worked at the school & who used to do her own job & Pams. Pam's friend has now left & so Pam has palmed most of her work of on other team members who are now, understandably fed up with carrying her, oh well it all makes life interesting.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Cold and dark here again today, off to work again, starting a sage bookwork course today, I use it every day in my work so know how to use it, but my boss wants me to get qualified, and she is paying for it :T , and its during work time :T , 9 - 12 for 10 weeks, so i am looking forward to that.
Chip night tonight, so will go and have a look in the freezer and see what we can have with it. Will swish and swipe before i go, will put a wash on when I get back tonight.
DD and OH have both woken up with raging sore throats and aching bodies, so they will both be off for the day, I hope I don't get it, have just had three days off sick with pleurisy and cant really have any more.
Poppy Is your OH still coming today, if so, good luck to you both I hope it works out for you both, you will probably be too busy to get pack on here later, but try to let us know how you get on xx
Pippa, I had a dream last night that you and I went out shopping and bargain hunting, I knew exactly who you were, and we were great friends, even though we have never met
Hugs to Marie and DH xx
Have good days all xx0
