Jammy........ Well Done You!! :T I'm glad you managed to get through to the what must be the only malleable customer service advisor on their payroll...........Wouldn't budge regarding charge of £15 for a new machine when I rang! Still I'm happy to have the 35 litre cylinders for now, will try again later when they stop supplying these, which is inevitable of course!:rolleyes:Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. :A0 -
Hi,
Just thought I'd add my experience to the thread. I'm giving mine away to a Freecycler and they asked what cylinder mine took. I couldn't remember as I haven't used it in years and not finding anything on their website other than the fact that it looked like my model (Fizz On-line) had now been discontinued, I figured it wouldn't do any harm to email Sodastream customer support to enquire if cylinders were still available, not expecting much of a response. I was surprised then to receive a reply within about fifteen minutes stating the following:Dear Sir,
Your machine is compatible with 35 Litre cylinders, these are available from us directly.
Please contact us on 0845 601 0093 Monday - Friday to place your order.

So it would appear that you can still get the smaller cylinders if you give them a call.0 -
I rang the number yesterday and got a recorded message, so I left my mobile number. This morning, a very pleasant young man phoned me back and took my order for 35 litre cylinders, and he was even very patient when I got in a tangle with myself because I'm nervous when using phones!:pIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

I ws considering buying sodstream machine. After reading all this, even with the resolution at the end, I'm not going to now. No way that I'd want to buy a product where the manufacturer can just make them obsolete if they want to.
The basic sodastream patents must have expired by now. You'd think that someone would have made a machine that doesn't require all this fiddly exchange of cylinders, where the cylider can just be refilled.0 -
I don't blame you. I started using Sodastream quite a while ago, before all this fiasco, so I'm pretty much making the best of it now (although I detest using the phone to order, and miss being able to do so online). If I was just now considering a machine, I'd be totally put off, and I'm darned sure I wouldn't bother.I ws considering buying sodstream machine. I defo remember other brands in the seventies. My mum had one that wasn't a soda stream. Think it was a kenwood and was brown with plain bottles because my friend used to point out it wasn't a proper soda stream.

I know this is an old post. You probably won't see my Q. But it doesn't hurt to ask. Would like to know who to launch a complaint to. Thanks.Hi lilibeth - no response as yet to my e-mail, and I just tried to ring them only to get a recorded message telling me that there's nobody available to answer my call. I didn't leave a message as I have already e-mailed, but if I don't hear anything in the next few days, I will try calling again and see if I can get to speak to someone.
For those on here wondering about the MSE nature of the Soda Stream, it's great if you just like fizzy water - it costs anything from 30p to over £1 a bottle in the shops, and then you have all the plastic bottles to recycle, whereas the soda stream does work out cheaper, plus more environmentally friendly and I don't have to find somewhere to store all the drinks! However, this benefit will be worthless if I cannot get gas for it - £50 as an initial investment is one thing, but I cannot justify buying a whole new unit for such a lame reason. I hate throwing things away as well, but cannot really Freecycle or E-bay something which I know people won't be able to use!0 -
Googling for FizzGiz should help. Good luck.I ws considering buying sodstream machine. After reading all this, even with the resolution at the end, I'm not going to now. No way that I'd want to buy a product where the manufacturer can just make them obsolete if they want to.

Again, google FizzGiz will reveal a unit that lets U use plain old co2 cartridges and plain old soda bottles of ANY sort (even the NEW Coca-Cola form factor, but you have to send your own caps in to have them converted). Bye.I don't blame you.
