Are HSBC going to introduce a contactless card?

They have been trialling these on their UK credit cards since last year.

I'm a bit suprised their new VISA debit cards don't have this feature by default (assuming they don't!) - certainly HSBC in some parts of the world have issued such cards for a while now.

    Regards

Sorry Inactive I missed your post but it is good to have you back. Since you been away the country has gone to the dogs.

I hope we get one of those cards soon.

Hi there ahai1, Thanks, I don't actually want a new card, I like my Maestro Card, it has a long standing £250 cheque guarantee facility, which I believe I will lose with the new type card, also I buy foreign currency quite often without any charges with my Maestro, which I believe will be chargeable with the Visa replacement card.

Has the currency charge been cofirmed?

No, but I have a feeling that it will be.

You might be wrong. Anyway the good thing about those cards is that the retailer pays for us to continue with our free banking.

I am in one of the launch areas and have not got a card.

It's good to see that the rate for the online bonus saver has not gone down. Mind you when I get a faster payments account with Tesco set up properly as I am waiting for the pin I may move it there as the rate is better. I have never used the money on the online bonus saver but just in case I need it. I do have a number of other accounts but they are all 3 day transfers.

It's a shame that HSBC does not have low value bonds like some of the building societies.

I was reading the reply to the mortgage article by Martin and there is one angry mortgage broker who is upset that HSBC sell directly. I think it is because it is the only provider who will be providing more mortgages and cutting out the middleman. It's quite funny he is suggesting a boycott. It will never happen.

I sent some money from HSBC to my account with Triodos bank on Monday I checked this morning and it has not arrived. I was wondering was it supposed to have gone in today or tomorrow?

BTW Is it worth seeing an IFA as I have real doubts about them?
