HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL..0

Morning ld...I'm like you, I don't drink much, just a quiet evening, watched the fireworks, then sloped off to slumber..
A special happy and healthy new year to you.0 -
could i ask a question to the person/people on here who work for the HSBC,please?.i could go into my bank but they are always so busy!!
I opened my third regular saver last month,as we have a joint, advance account, that hubby has his wages paid into.i opened one in my name as i am a non tax payer. However shortly i will be coming to the end of a fixed term bond which means opening another of these regular savers is going to be beneficial considering the interest rate.Obviously it will be in hubbys name ,even as a tax payer it will still be 6.4% and i can top up from a savings account if need be.
My question is,can 2 accounts be opened even though there is only one wage going in(mine gets paid into the instant access) ?
thanks in advance.I cannot find the answer in the terms and conditions of the regular saver.0 -
Hi
I have a number of questions:
1.What is the highest limit that you get on the HSBC student credit card
2. When are the visa debit cards being introduced.
3.Does money transfered from another HSBC account count as as monthly credit to your current advance account.
4.What credit reference agencies do HSBC use for student accounts and credit cards.0 -
The highest limit you can get with the Student Credit Card is £500 and HSBC use Experian.
I think it is about time HSBC updated their Savings products. The Online Bonus Saver Account has not been updated for more than a year now.0 -
What do you mean by update? They serve the customers need.0

Thank you for the advice :rotfl:0

Hiya PARIS
3. No i dont think so. The credits need to be regular and mandated. There is still confusion however the account would be converted centrally and automatically. This question has been asked numerous times on the thread and it still isnt clear. Personally, I would have to see it mandated in.. ie salary or benefits.. It is one of my new years resulutions to look into this properly.. (( not had many "customers" query it to be honest!)) but in your case, if the money is credited to a savings account by mandated means, then this "i think" would be sufficient.
This really does need clarifying. If the credit has to be by a mandated salary credit then this effectively rules out the large section of the community like me who are self employed. Money gets into my current account when I put it in myself, either direct or transferred from my HSBC business account. Self employed people will in most cases never ever pay in by mandated credits. I wonder if they really are intending to prevent us self employed from ever being allowed an advanced account.
My monthly average ingoings are well over the £500 figure (some months MANY times that) but it seems they still class me as a second class citizen. And as an aside I notice that the interest paid on my business money manager account has now dropped to a miserly 0.2%, do they really want to keep their business customers?0 -

Had a couple of customers show up recently in branch though - thanks to internal screwups, they've got BBAs with £100 cheque guarantee cards on them...
I have a Basic account with a maestro card. (it was a passport account whcih after a year became Basic account)
My branch is busy and even though I had an appointment last time that I wanted to ask something I had to wait for more than 30 minutes... so I don't bother to go just to ask what card will I receive (as it's not my primary account)
It seems I have to wait this month to see what card will I receive...0 -
Self emlployed income * should* be credited to a business account and then the standing order for your salary is mandated into your current>
If your current account is receiving credits totalling £500+ per month then the account will be upgraded automatically. It has nothing to do with the fact that your self employed...
If this is not the case, then your current account is not receiveing the regular credits..
It does not get into my current account via any sort of 'standing order' rather it gets there when I do it via an account transfer via internet banking. As self employed and sole trader there is no such thing as 'salary' so any talk about that is not really relevant.0
