I agree with you there. I have heard that in some places they have to get a supervisor as the staff don't know anything about the guarantee.ShelfStacker wrote: »I have none, they're all on HSBC's intranet.
Cheque books don't have an expiry date - we sometimes see cheques coming in with the old Midland griffin logo on them.
darcy - you'll get the black Plus one.
TBH, guarantee cards are useless in this day and age, as few places besides the odd restaurant take cheques. Cheques are useful when you need to give someone some money but don't want to have to deal with account numbers and sort codes, or for when a payment needs to be flexible about which account it goes into, but aside from that they're of very limited utility.0 -

Depends on your status, basically. Could be Solo/Visa Debit Online only, could be Maestro/Visa Debit, could have a cheque guarantee. Depends entirely on how good your credit/behavioural score is.0 -

That is unfortunately true, however, I still use cheques on occasions to pay for things like car repairs, washing machine repairs etc. where my £250 card guarantee is still a useful asset, obviously HSBC must agree if they are still providing it to their paid for Premier Customers.:rolleyes:0 -
That is because they are paying the bank for running their accounts. I would not pay the bank for an account a single penny.0

Where would you pay?0

That is disgraceful. No wonder they have money.0
