Get new cards yes. When? No Idea, imagine it'll be when your card expires. ldavies said something about you will get a new card if the expiry is 18 months in advance or something.0 -

When I opened my account with the Catholic Building Society they asked for either cheque or cash. Charity Bank also ask for cheques.
Fair enough but usually if you are opening an account with either cash or cheque, most small sums would be cash, but if its a larger sum then a cheque is obviously valid, but what would a £250 guarentee do? lol.
To be fair I recieve cheques for birthday and xmas but never ask for a cheque guarentee card :rotfl: I guess its an age thing (trying not to be ruuude here!!), a lot of younger people don't really ever use them.
Also do cheque books have an expiry date?0 -
I was talking about the cheque in general. Personally I don't even know what a cheque guarantee card is. I put in cheques as it is easier to get proof it has been paid.0

I have none, they're all on HSBC's intranet.
Cheque books don't have an expiry date - we sometimes see cheques coming in with the old Midland griffin logo on them.
darcy - you'll get the black Plus one.
TBH, guarantee cards are useless in this day and age, as few places besides the odd restaurant take cheques. Cheques are useful when you need to give someone some money but don't want to have to deal with account numbers and sort codes, or for when a payment needs to be flexible about which account it goes into, but aside from that they're of very limited utility.0
