HSBC Changing all Bank accounts

What was the reason they gave you that you weren't eligible?Could the people who work for HSBC kindly answer this question, or tell me where to find the answer in the T&Cs (or elsewhere)?
For how many months do you have to transfer in £500 to be eligible for the Advance account? I have been having my salary paid in for the last 4 months, but have been told I don't qualify. To be honest without the sweetener of the 8% account I'm tempted to go elsewhere and treat it simply as a bills account (<£500).
Thanks in advance.
On looking at the website it appears that you need to be able to pay in £500 per month to open the account. I guess a few payslips would probably suffice or a contract of employment if proof is wanted? Either way, I don't get why you would have to be paying it in for a period beforehand.Trying to only spend money when I absolutely have to.Barclaycard: £4559-1500 = £3059 (Will have £900 to add to that end of September)Loan from Friend = £20000 -
Thanks for answering our questions.
Actually it is not just places like the UAE which invest all over the world they include the government of Singapore.0 -
I could not find the address for the ISA manager so I have given my branch address.0

Idavies, so if I was putting in ~£1200 for the last 4 months I should have got the Advance account? The reason they gave on the letter was the £500 per month thing. I gave customer services a ring last night and they didn't understand it either.MFW #66 - £4800 target0

That is a running theme according to many people the staff on the phones don't understand it.0

It's on the intranet specifically what to do when a customer reckons they're elligible for Advance when they've only been put on the current account. The specific qualifying criteria is on there.Trying to only spend money when I absolutely have to.Barclaycard: £4559-1500 = £3059 (Will have £900 to add to that end of September)Loan from Friend = £20000

This is one of the things that happen when organisations introduce changes they don't tell the staff on the front line how to operate it.0

So chances are I do qualify, so any suggestions about the best way to go about getting it sorted? Would going into a branch be best or just ring up customer services and get them to check again?
P.S. Will I get you in trouble if I say a little birdie told me the rules are on the intranet?MFW #66 - £4800 target0
