Ask the person - 'don't they give you internal literature on these things when they are brought out?' That should prompt them to search the intranet.
Trying to only spend money when I absolutely have to.

It is difficult to absorb a lot of stuff. I have been in places where what the employee is expected to is like a thick book.

No, it was on the " Activate New Card " thread.;)

Which seems to have been moved or removed for some reason.

Update, it has rolled over to the next page..

Of course that's the best way to phrase it (god I'd be awful at customer service).

Thanks for all your help, I'll let you know what happens after I've been to see them Sat.

But in reality it is quite different as the staff in the telephone centre don't know all the changes and have angry customers at them. I don't even ring them up anymore.

No, it's up to you to initiate the upgrading. It's not like one of those accounts where you pay in a certain amount and get a certain something, it's actually fundamentally different - basically your account is put into the hands of a relationship manager, who then becomes your first point of contact regarding lending and such. They will want to meet with you and discuss things before doing the upgrade as such.
