HSBC Changing all Bank accounts

HSBC have decided not to reduce the mortgage rate by 1.5%.
Not sure whether they did offer variable rate mortgages at some point in the past, but HSBC currently only offer fixed rate mortgages and trackers (at least, judging by their website - this isn't my area of expertise, as you can probably guess). If you're on a fixed rate, you wouldn't have lost if the rate went up so you can't complain now; trackers will get the rate cut passed on automatically.
Lovely article about this in the Independent the other day: http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/dominic-lawson/dominic-lawson-when-in-doubt-blame-the-banks-997948.html0 -
I agree with you that the credit crunch has just started. On the mortgages it does not matter as I don't have one.
One of my neighbours has got a subprime mortgage. He lives in his housing association house but rents out his new home which he brought to tenants.0 -
I received a letter from them as well.
This is my main account so all money get deposited in it...does it mean I'll automatically get current account plus?
When do we notice the change and get new debit cards?0 -
You won't get Plus, you'll get Advance. But it'll happen automatically soon enough, and to be honest you won't notice much visible change.0

I thought it was happening in December?0

It was a typing error let's not get personal here. I am sure we all make them.0

Don't worry it happens to us all. That is one of the reasons why a lot of words are corrected by the computer on Microsoft Word.0

I had no idea there was a spell check here. Proof reading is easier said then done.0
