Good! Because otherwise I'd be wasting eggs as I wouldn't use them and would have to throw them away. Unless I manage to eat 5 eggs in two days....Money money money.

just cracked a couple of eggs into a bowl to make cake (with hindsight wish I had put them in before anything else ) and they were very runny, did the float test on the rest of the box and you could float the titanic on them. They dont smell bad, would you use them?Let's get ready to bumble! :rotfl:0

Yes.......:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Hi smeeinnit,
As you've now used the eggs I've added your thread to the main one on whether or not eggs are safe to use. Enjoy your cake!

If an egg is off you can usually tell instantly. The reason the human race has survived for thousands of years is that we have the best "gone off food detector" just above our mouths.
The same goes for dairy products - milk, cheese, yoghurt etc all go off in their own good time, not as prescribed by some arbitrary date stamp.
As for those "once opened consume within 'x' days" messages, don't get me started...
These dates are all a con to ensure regular turnover of produce and most of them are immoral imho, especially when you see what is happening at present in the horn of Africa.I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying0 -
The new Innocent book has a visual guide:
Top Left: "If it sinks to the bottom and stays there, it's good to go"
Top Right: "If it sinks but then floats at an angle, it's about a week old"
Bottom Left: "If it sinks and stands up, its 2 weeks old"
Bottom Right: "If it floats, it's a bad egg"0 -
Should I store them in the fridge or on the bench which is best?AKA: PC
