Good afternoon!
Been out for coffee with my mate this morning and had a good old gossip! Then whipped into town to get ds's shorts for PE - what on earth he keeps doing with them I really don't know, I'm going to have to rifle through his room and dd1's in case she has them! Picked up some free Sanctuary body cream in Boots, found a voucher in the Style section of Sunday's Times, glad I read it in the bath now! Smells lovely, can't decide whether to keep it or put it in the pressie box!
Nipped into Somerfield and found some ys stuff - lovely piece of beef for £3, sardines for 75p and some chicken escaplopes for 75p. Amazingly I have hardly ever found that many great bargains, then over the past week I have found loads of them - does this mean that the supermarkets are overstocked cos people are buying less do you think? Also gammon is half price in there, so £5, in the sc at the mo ready to slice later and freeze for sarnies.
Have made bread, got macaroni cheese in the moski, will add breadcrumbs and grated cheese later to give it a crispy top, washing still needs to be hung out and dw is running. Feel like I've done loads, don't think I have really though, but going to have a browse and a cuppa whilst I catch up with you all.
Interesting article in the Times today "how to share, swap, save, scrimp... and still have a good time" - quite interesting and mentions a few websites I hadn't heard of, so going to have a looksee at them too!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Hi everyone:hello: .I was out and about early today so I could get a lift into town with DH &DS2.I called at Aldi to pick up an energy monitor-wanted one for ages-just have to work out how to use it now!
Then I had a hair appointment-I've not been for ages so its got really long, but has now enabled me to get it in the style I wanted,so I'm quite pleased with it.My hairdresser is a fella, friend of the family,I worked with his wife for years,so he can fill me in on any gossip since I left work  .Its been a gorgeous day here, bit of a breeze, but sunny.I was going to mow the lawn but I can't find the key to the shed,so will have to wait till hubby gets back.I will make some more jam instead- got some cheap Scottish strawbs off the market.
Hope everyone has some good moments in their day.
Meanmarie- hope Ulick's confusion lessens soon and they get to the bottom of it all.

Marie - glad that things seem to be improving for Ullick at bit, hope he continues on the mend quickly - being grumpy with you is surely a good sign that things are returning to normal (or is that just my oh who seems to think I'm personally responsible for any illness he gets?)
Melika - congratulations, that's fantastic news for you and great news about your oh's job too. Sounds like you've had all your bad luck and that things are turning round for you both, since things tend to come in three's, perhaps you should take Sybil's advice and buy a lottery ticket!
Pink - glad Miss P has settled in so well, enjoy your mini break!
Redruby - I saw David Blaine too, and thought exactly the same, why?
Jet - hope you manage to find time to pick up some eye drops and get it sorted quickly, conjunctivitis is horrid.
Troo - lol at the little lad. I was in Aldi the other day and an elderly lady was looking at the cycling stuff, she picked up some lycra overshoes and a lycra hat (not sure what that was all about) and asked her hubby if he'd like them, he just looked in astonishment at her and said "but I haven't got a bike"! I was wetting myself!
Candygirl - hugs to your dd, poor lass is really going through it at the mo, and enjoy your course, it'll be a nice break for you!
Pippa - hope your mum is feeling better soon
Mrs Moneypenny - that does sound like a lot of homework, have you spoken to his teacher about how long it is taking him. My dd3 is in year 3, and she has maths which takes about half an hour, spellings for which they write and sentence and learn 10 words, and reading to do each night, occasionally there are other bits and bobs, but not a lot more - this is a weekly amount btw, except for the reading.
Ruth - hello and feel free to come and rant on here, you'll improve your ranting skills in no time listening to some of us (that'll prob be me when I've got a bee in my bonnet lol!) Hope things go well for your grandad tomorrow.
Kadeeae - Welcome! Peeling apples seems to take forever doesn't it, every time I reach the end of one batch I seem to have more sitting and waiting!
Well that took ages to catch up, still not caught up on yesterday's news, so hugs or congrats as appropriate to anyone I've missed. Hung the washing out and now it's turned all grey and windy outside, hope it blows itself dry before any rain appears! dd3 has music club tonight and a neighbour is on the school run, so a bit more peace and quiet for me!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Afternoon all,
Have tidied house, got two loads of washing dry and back in and put away, :T , left a couple of bits on the line, which were still a bit damp, will give them another hour.
Went up the beach with little dog for an hours walk, she tiptoes in the sea, she is such a wimp she will never go in past her ankles  , she is fast asleep now, but I bet she still wants her evening walk.
Stripped the meat off the turkey legs, and made them into a curry which is in the sc ready for dinner, little dog can have the skin and bits we can't eat which she will love.
Marie, please take care of yourself as well as your dh, hugs to you both
Pippa, hope your mum is ok xx
Candy, sounds like your dd is well shot of him xx

Electrician has been here for ages trying to replace the socket - seem when the last lot rewired they did not sink in the socket as they should have done so it was really dificult.
He is coming back later to finish off putting a triple socket where a double was.
DH has found someone to replace a tile on our roof and to check the flashing near the chimney which might need replaced.
Electricity has been off and I do not want to use the freezer so might have to get fish and chips for tea.
DD(19) phoned from Newcastle and we had a chat - arranged for me to go and see her next Wednesday and have lunch and maybe do some shopping. Really looking forward to this.
Managed to do two loads of washing around electricity being off and it is hanging on the line.
Hugs to everybody and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all
Had a meeting with my manager today, she's very helpful & sympathetic & has suggested getting Occupational Health in for a chat. She feels it will give her ammunition to get things changed, so fingers crossed.
I managed to finish on time today, first time for weeks so I feel better for that.
Have a good evening everyone.
Hugs Hester

Evening All
Not a very eventful day. Found out my digital camera is dead. It no longer focuses and it's less than two years old. Would cost aroun £100 to replair it, so would be just as well to replace it.
Done all my surveys and clicks, but having problems with ispos for some reason and home of research.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Evening all
It's freezing here, blowing a gale and raining. I've shut all the windows and I refuse to put the heating on. DS and OH don't feel the cold at all, unlike me.
Work was very noisy, was lovely to come home. Tea was leftovers from the freezer. Really need to run it down and defrost it so I can start making stuff for Xmas. Sorry if it is too soon to mention that word.
Welcome new peeps, nice to hear from you.
HESTER hope you get something sorted soon.
CANDYGIRL your poor DD, BIG HUGS TO ALL OF YOU.
Off to stick Ds in the bath in a mo, then am looking forward to a quiet night watching carp on telly and knitting, as OH won't be home until 10ish:D .
Have a good night all.

Good evening chums ,
<<hugs>> to those who need them. had a busy day today.Hospital this morning for pre-op checks .ecg, blood tests ect then back to Mr T's for a couple of bits .Grabbed a couple of bargains whilst there for my eldest DD (she will transfer the money tonight.)Got a turkey leg reduced to 60p:j Huge one which I will bung into the SC and make a curry with tomorrow for her plus a kilo of organic minced beef also reduced at £2.60.That will be turned into individual lasagnes to go into her freezer tomorrow .Still haven't a lot of room in mine at the moment.
My pal came down from Dartford to visit, and we had a nice salady lunch and then went to craft class this afternoon. This is the first time I have been able to get onto my new computer today.
Tonight I am going to put my feet up and watch Holby City and do a bit more knitting for the Linus Project.
Tomorrow I have to sort out lots of old family photos as I am off to Lancashire on Friday to meet up with my cousin who landed this afternoon from Australia. Its going to be a busy week-end as my nephew has arranged lots of things for us to do. I just don't know where the time flies to just lately. I have started to get some Christmas presents already as I want to get ahead of myself for a change. I seem to usually be rushing about at the last minute, so this year I am starting early, only another 14 to buy:rolleyes: Will make a start on the Christmas cake next week. I like Delia's recipe as its nice and easy and not too rich.
Very overcast and gloomy here at the moment ,winter is really on its way I think.
Next Monday I start back on my Uni CCS course, and I'm really looking forward to that as its all about the Victorian Age. I hope I will be able to keep up, as I have had a year off from studying because of illness. Still onwards and upwards chums .
My hair is really getting quite curly now :j and I suppose its one good thing that came out of the chemo apart from the obvious that I'm still alive and kicking that is :j Well time to toddle off .have a good evening everyone
Cheers JackieO:beer:0
