Morning all :hello:
Late getting on here as I've had a busy morning. I need to go into the office with OH for the rest of the week so I decided to hit the kitchen running to get ahead of myself. So far I've made;
Carrot and butterbean soup
Mince and onion pie
2 batches of meatballs
2 batches of yoghurt
2 pats of butter and some buttermilk from 10p cream bought last night
24 apple and blackberry muffins
24 carrot and cinnamon muffins
12 scones
garlic potatoes.
The potatoes are to have tonight as I've decided to BBQ as the sun is still shining and I have lots of little bits of BBQ food I got reduced during the summer. Will have it with HG lettuce, tomato and spring onion.
Washing is on the line, beds made and bathroom swished so just need to tackle the mess in the kitchen then spend an hour in the garden this afternoon sorting out the borders for winter.
Pink is just off the phone. Miss Pink is very happy and Pink and Mr Pink are enjoying their time away.
Good luck to Ruthebe's Grandad.
Welcome Kadeeae
Hugs to Candy, Beth, smoky and Pippa.
Congratulations to Mellika.
Bye for now

Little bear is having a nap. He may be asleep for some time. So far today he has woken up mum at 7am, played relentlessly between having his bottle and having his porridge at 8, then played relentlessly till his Grandad came down, then stole half of his Grandad's toast (I knew that he would, my darling father got a double helping of very buttery toast), begged next door's [STRIKE]bear[/STRIKE] dog for a cuddle, who obliged, stole and ate all of the tomatoes that his Grandad was supposed to be taking home, watched and disapproved of his Grandad's car being jet washed, stole his Grandad's umbrella which lead to a merry chase and spilt squash everywhere.
I have read and enjoyed yesterday's and today's threads, and made mental notes of who I need to thank, and who I need to say 'hugs' or 'congratulations'. Of course I have completely forgotten all of them!
Hardup Hester - have you considered actually writing down all that you do? Keep a diary of everything that lands on your desk? If nothing else, you may be able to persuade them that a pay rise may be more economical than providing an assistant.
Pippa - I do hope that all goes well with you, it is so hard when family are poorly.
Meanmarie - We are all thinking of you and hoping all goes well
bethebee - that was such a lovely poem, it brought such a lump to my throat, I loved it. Thank you so much.
I am sure that there are other people I should be talking to - but I really cannot remember
My darling father has gone home, and it is so sad. Dear heart would be happy for him to move in with us - as would I. Little bear of course adores his Grandad, and they really are such chums.
I think tonight's tea will be cold lamb, savoury rice (tefal thingy rice cooker) and peas. I must get the benefit of our gadgets.
After posting this I must get the supermarket grocery delivery finalised (for so much less than normal!) and book to go back to the holiday cottage next year. Then I am going to ignore as much as possible the vast expanse of ironing (including all the items washed but not ironed before our holiday, all the holiday washing and the not insignificant amount of washing magically needing to be done since we returned - I am currently quite abreast of the washing) but I am going to ebay and ebay and ebay, just to get things out of the house.
I also need to keep an eye out for a pushchair being delivered. Little bear's pushchair was inexpensive and has had a certain amount of use, but the beach was just to much for it and now one of the wheels keeps falling off. As it is impossible for dear heart to steer (it isn't very easy for me to steer either) I have invested in another inexpensive pushchair, using a money off code on ebay. I really need to get through October spending the absolute minimum

And another thing....
Haribo Junkie - that is such an impressive list! I need to use my freezer more, and I shall once I have finished all the junk in there.
Candygirl - your poor darling daughter! Thank goodness she can rely on you! Hugs to her as well as yourself and all your family. I think here is a good place to let your feelings out. I do not know how you are managing.
Melika - congratulations! I am so glad that things are going well for you! I hope lots and lots of good fortune follows you - perhaps now is a good time to buy a lottery ticketThere are so many people I am sure I have missed - hugs and congrats and commiserations and admiration to all of those I have meant to but forgot.

Afternoon all,
Still no definite news on Ulick beyond that it wasn't a bleed so they have put him on high dosage aspirin until further assessment is done...he has a metal plate in his forehead from an army injury in 1967 so cannot do MRI...apparently metal sends the machine mad or something, they did explain but only some of it went in. He is better able to say things now but cannot remember my name or the grandsons', both of whom I took in for a few minutes yesterday, they miss him as he is always here...
Not feeling too clever to-day probably just stress, DD4 is here to-day and to-morrow so I am glad of that support...will go see Ulick at 2 and just stay a while as he seems to get agitated when I go in so will just make an appearance and take him some ciggies...he has to go outside in a w/chair to smoke, I wish they wouldn't let him but I suppose that there are rights you have to be given...even if it is killing you!
Mellika, glad to hear your good news, hugs to all in need or want, thanks for all the good wishes

Hi everyone. Just had my lunch and thought I'd come back on before I start work.
Welcome to Kadeeae and Ruth - glad you have joined us!
I've just remembered the dough I left rising which is now finally in the oven. The loaves are going to be huge!
Haribo - you've been really busy in the kitchen. It's so satisfying to have such a productive day, isn't it?
Meanmarie - (((hugs))) to Ulrick. Hope you're feeling a bit better now.
Well, the sun has just come out again - it went quite cloudy an houror so ago and was really cold. It's breezy too but I didn't have enough for a WM load so couldn't make the most of it.
I've managed to load my missing software from DSD1's CDs so I'm up and running now - apart from having lost all my email addresses and favourites in last week's computer crash. I'm gradually getting the email addresses back but my favourites are lost forever and I had loads! It did need a bit of a clear out but having the computer crash is my least favourite way of doing it!
Well, I think I'll put the kettle on for a cuppa.
See you later.

Oooh Pooky loving the sound of your tea for tonight - could you share the details of what you do please?
yum yum yum yum yum - it's ages till tea time no far!
I generally cut the streaky bacon slices in 2 - wrap it around sausages and some chunks of onion (I've done it with stuffing balls before too which was yummy) and bung in a suitable dish in the oven - let it cook for 15 mins and then add gravy (so it just about covers the sausages) - add some dumpling balls (I add herbs and paprika to mine for a kick) and bung back in the oven until done...
You could add potatoes/other veg too I'd imagine but it's delish just as it is.

I have been out of the loop for a few day's a combination of being busy and feeling rubbish my joints are bad as it's getting colder I have had to put the heating on to take the chill off
I have only done the essentials over the past few day's so there are quite a few jobs that need doing so I will start to tackle them when I get home this afternoon from taking the 2 youngest to the dentist for their check up although I think ds2 might have to have a tooth removed as his big teeth don't push his milk teeth out
best get on with something
have a good afternoon
pam xxI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you
