Oh I completely agree. XBOX has TROUNCED PS3 for sales. However ~ XBOX sales up until their recent price drop were slowing down, whilst PS3s was accelerating. Be interesting to see how it all pans out in 2 or 3 years time, but my moneys on PS3 personally. The only reason XBOX is so far out in front at the moment is because its been out so much longer and it has shed loads more games. PS3s slowly creeping forwards though, and sony seeming to be thinking 'outside the box' more in terms of ingenuity. Theres only so many 1st person shooters a person can take:idea:0 -
PS3 easy
I've owned both and prefer the PS3....you get everything straight out the box the 360 you have to keep buying add ons......the Blu ray is awesome on a good HD TV
Though you get more games for the Xbox 360 (alot are crap though)
As of yet NO ONE has been able to copy PS3 games (though claims have been made) yet you can get any xbox 360 game copied
I use my PS3 to stream movies music etc from my PC (xbox can do this to)
I just prefer the PS3 it just seems nicer better quality and very simply to use
If i was you try and play a mates (both consoles) as at the end of the day only you can decide
Something else i found PS3 online gaming seems to work better than microsofts (but maybe thats just me)If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
Just interested Conor ~ in what was was HD-DVD superior?
!
Interactive features, timeline scrolling with screen grabs etc etc etc. It wasn't to do with storage capacity. If you look at the history of Blu-Ray, they're basically on revision 2.1 now. The revisions have added some of the additional functionality you had with HD-DVD but not all. The downside is that Blu-Ray players on the older revisions can't really work with the new revision discs without firmware updates which aren't always available as the players can't support the functionality without hardware updates which is why it makes sense to get a PS3 as a Blu-Ray player.0 -

Im sure you dont need to be told that there will ALWAYS be people that side on the machine of 'copiable' games purely as they dont wish to pay for them (Or indeed make money selling the copies!).......
It will happen to the PS3 too as soon as Blu Ray rewriters and media become affordable0 -

Thats something that people havnt really touched on yet. PS3 is actually an astounding piece of 'hifi'! XBOX is good with games ~ no doubt. But the PS3s sound is better and the upscaling capabilities even beat my dedicated Pioneer dvd players! Of course blurays look stunning on a decent tv too.
THAT side of it is really down to the people that care about 'quality' over just how many polgons it can throw around and how many games it has...........:idea:0 -

I think you hit the nail on the head the PS3 is very much more than just a gaming machine, hence why its price is higherIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

To be honest, whilst im sure your right.........I personally wouldnt risk it as its similar to what microsoft have done with their updates. The PS3s firmware is updated every so often and so anyone that DOES get their PS3 'chipped' or whatever is going to be unable to update their firmware from then on (Presumably). This would stop them using sonys site to download free content, update the games they DO have, miss out on new features and possibly even stop them playing online.
Certainly be interesting to see how it goes on anyways..........:idea:0 -

No i agree my abox 360 was chipped and it was banned from xbox live which to me was bad as you can't play online (important part of gaming if you ask me) so if it does happen with the PS3 then i won't be getting it chipped.....i guess i'm happy to pay for the qaulity of the games and Blu ray....just seems worth it nowIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
