is he not refering to the games, if it were to get ring of death you can easily send it to microsoft for a free repair,0 -

Sorry, but no. The PS3 is capable of 240 GFLOPs while the 360 can only manage 115.2 (Assuming they are measured with the same test, nothing is mentioned in the 360 article).
Essentially, that says that the PS3 is capable of performing twice the calculations that the 360 can when running a program perfectly.
Though obviously, this requires that the developers write completely optimized code, which is unlikely, so the real world values will be much less.
Looking at the same pages, the PS3's GPU is clocked 40% faster, though that also relies on code being optimised, as well as other details of the cards.0 -
the xbox 360 has a 3.2 GHz PPC Tri-Core Xenon CPU whereas the PS3 has a 3.2 GHz Cell Broadband Engine with 1 PPE & 7 SPEs
isn't the CPU 1 in the 360 more powerful
Seriously now, I NEVER listen to BS that manufacturers give out. Personally from what I can tell the PS3 is more powerful overall (Potentially). Time will tell I spose, but who cares? Its not like either machines a 'dud' is it??
In terms of the processors its down to how they work as opposed to sheer speed figures. Ive seen 2.6 processors outperform 3 Ghz ones when doing certain calculations purely as they work differently.:idea:0 -
which is the more powerful is fairly irrelevant, judge on the quality of the games. both consoles now have great games but are they particularly better on one than the other? certainly not when it comes to multi format games. so judge on exclusives. which exclusives do you prefer? you then consider how much cheaper the 360 is.0

According to the PS3 page, its capable of 2Tflops when combined with its floating point units!:idea:0 -
The PS3 is on paper a more powerful console, however the architecture is far greater in complexity to develop games for. I don't think there's anything on the PS3 that has even come close to pushing it as far as it can, nor do I think that there will be in the next two years.0

Basically, this is what it boils down to.
But the techie talk and throwing around numbers is fun :P0
