  • The PS1 package is £29.99 in Inverness Dixons - asked member of staff who reckoned the lower pirce must be managers special - shame would have loved one of these for DD - she's too young to notice the difference

Just to let u guys know that if u are looking for the psone, u can order them online at £14.99 plus £6.99 p&p. I have had sme problem as most. Went to supposedly currys superstore and couldn't find any gc or psone. Went to another currys store and then asked an assistant who then checked system for me said there was one in nearby store but is display model and would not sell. Oh well u win some u lose some would have been a good present for my son, but I may get the psone any way. Thanks to the person who found these good deals.

    Bit of Googling!!

Currys, Dixons, The Link are all part of the same company and so use the same software.

Every item has a SKU code. Bit of 'advanced' googling can pull anything up. Although none of it is in stock on the Net, they may well have some in stores.

Those TV stands are interesting for 1p!!?

totally! I hope someone finds some and reports back. my parents could totally do with one. will have a hunt in sheffield city centre, although i doubt i'll get anywhere
  • I got a GC a few days ago and managed to get the Zelda game. The person who served me knew about the game, I didn't even mention it to him. It turns out that any stock that is listed as 1p is an item that goes free with another item. He said that the Zelda game was not for sale but that it was a freebie with the GC so I got it for free. He also got one for himself which he scanned with mine and took the 2p off my bill. He said that they had more games in stock than GC's so it seems that not all staff have been giving them away.

I guess that this all means that you shouldn't be able to buy the TV stands for 1p, I imagine that they were meant to be free with the TV?

Thanks for the info about the GC, it will make a nice addition to my OH's pressies. Now all I need are some cheap games??
  • Where do we stand if we weren't given the Zelda game for free, anyone know?

And yes I reiterate the call for cheap games. I am gonna check out the pre owned section at my local gamestation.

You could try asking them to scan it to confirm the price. Sometimes the quoted price hasn't been updated with the latest price on the system.

You could always buy it online (in stock right now!):

Although there is a £6.99 delivery charge :o
too young to hold on, too old just to break free and run

Very true, I phoned Currys to check the GC price and was quoted £69.99!! I asked him to scan it and it came up at £24.99. He was reading the price label so always make sure they check the scanned price. As these are old items now the staff aren't all up to date about the offer.

there's a thread further down the board with some good GC bargains. called GC christmas list or something.
I'd recomend getting a couple of the bongo games, they're great fun, especially at parties and on christmas day. EVERYONE enjoys them. worth getting 2 games so you can have 2 sets and go head to head. i'd suggest both the donky konga games, as jungle beat is only one player, but it is fun. £20 with bongos from amazon for donkey konga 2. bargain!

supermonkey ball and mario kart are also good party games.
  • This might help someone - Lancaster Currys had 3 GameCubes left, I bought one (thanks macktv), leaving 2. That was about 2pm today (Sunday).
