Why are people over-reacting so much over this? As far as I can see they are being perfectly reasonable with their offers to those who didn't get the TV. After all its not as if anyone has been inconvenienced in any way whatsoever - you ordered the TV, got a refund when they couldn't meet demand, and in addition got a discount voucher.
What makes anyone think that they are entitled to more than this (Honest question)?

It's Dell's T&C makes people believe that they are entitled to more. I guess Dell will modify their T&C soon after this mess. I had a very similar case with Ebuyer, when I quoted their own T&C and challenged Ebuyer why they could terminate the contract unilaterally. Now, if you check Ebuyer's T&C, you will see they've given themselves much more 'rights' at the very beginning. Those terms were not there...0 -

Get from under the desk, it is reasonable to ask these questions. This info is not aimed at you in particular, just info for everybody.
I ordered the TV had the confirmation, cash was taken and the TV was desptached on the 28th November. Before any of their so called technical faults.
I was inconvenienced as I had three unpaid days off work to be in on the delivery dates they specified. I did not choose them.
I was inconvenienced as I wanted the TV or my sons birthday present, it did not turn up.
I am inconvenienced now because to get the same spec/performance TV I will have to fork out an extra £200.
They took my order, took my cash, confirmed it by E-Mail and by telephone and are refusing to supply me with the goods. They are even refusing to stick to their own terms and conditions.
After they took my cash they supplied volume discount re-sellers with the product.
After they took my cash they supplied people who had probs with their 19" orders with the 26" TV.
Dell even supplied the TV to people who ordered two days after my order was confirmed.
Advertising a product you can not supply is fraud in my book.
To add insult to injury, Dell have not contacted me since last Friday. Despite being told that "Investigations" would call me back within 24 hours.
Given all this forgive me if I think their that their £75.00 voucher offer is an insult. As a start point they should offer the same discount on the 32".
By law they owe me at least £200.00 -confirmed by my local Trading Standards and my brief (loss of bargain). Both of which are chomping at the bit to take this on. The brief is drawing up a list of things to charge them with. "miss" this and "miss" that, "false" this and "false" that. If they want to go to court we can, game on. I will hunt them down as "vigorously" as they wish to defend it!
Dell have until tomorrow lunchtime to get back to me.
Good luck all.Never ever pay full price for anything and question everything at least twice!0 -
Hi Guys,
I've had all the same problems as your selves, and I'm sick of getting standard E-mails, that don't give me any infomation.0 -
Conspiracy theory? I think Dell have their staff monitoring these groups?
Had the satisfaction of voting HP as a primary IT supplier for £5Mill+ budget today instead of Dell. Took greater pleasure in removing them completely, they did not even get secondary supplier. No Blades, Servers, SANs and PCs for Dell. Not even a printer! Their account manager is due to get in touch shortly. I can't wait to tell them! It's nothing to Dell, but it makes me feel a little better! Me, bitter and twisted -surely not!Never ever pay full price for anything and question everything at least twice!0 -
Like most of you in the forum I was sold a Dell W2600 26in LCD TV when they knew they did not have stock. I ordered on 30th November! It took until the 7th December when the order status page asked me to email customer service when I realised the offer was too good to be true.
Since the 7th I have had correspondance with several Dell 'Customer Care' representatives from the 'very helpful' Indian call centre. Needless to say I got no where! From the very start the case I presented to them was their terms & conditions state I am entitled to a replacement product, out of 5 people I spoke to not one of them would address this issue and simply offered me the £75 voucher. The problem with the voucher is you can only use it against the purchase of a 32" or 37" TV. I have explained countless times that they aren't offering me compensation because to accept the £75 it is going to cost me nearly a further £1000 to buy another TV!
Finally this afternoon a team leader offered me 10% off my next Dell purchase. Whilst I really don't want to accept the offer I feel as though I have no choice. The question is, why should we have to accept this? I am convinced that we have a valid legal case against them. They are refusing point blank to offer any explaination as to why they will not honour their contract other than they can't offer 32" TVs because they cost too much!
I am willing to join with any other people in a similar boat who are looking to take legal action, it seems that the only way we will be heard is through the courts! Please keep us informed of any action you are looking to take.
Although I haven't spoken to them apparently the head of customer care's email address is Rajnish_Mishra@dell.com. Please let me know if you have any luck with further complaints. As far as I'm concerned I won't be contacting Dell again regarding this issue because its like talking to a brick wall!
