LBC, good luck with your complaint. We are on the same boat.
You could also try your local trading standards. Do remember to mention that there are a wide range of costumers that having the same problem with Dell. You may want to refer to Dell's T&C 3.
In terms of the negociation with Dell, I remember the 26'' Dell was 25% when we placed the orders, so a 25% off on another model could be reasonable somehow.0 -

I think it should be more than 25% off another LCD considering they have messed many of us around and the next sized LCD TV is £1,000+
I have also emailed watchdog and the more people that email then the better chance that something will be done as they are more likely to listen if they receive more complaints about Dells customer service well the lacf of it0 -
I also think it might be worth mentioning that the most recent Dell adverts say you can only buy Dell from Dell online or on the phone. Perhaps they need to add ebuyer and Aria!
This is how I am trying to argue my case for not receiving a product that they don't have. But every bu**er else does! Surely the ASA would be interested in their advertising claims. To win a competition gives you the spirit to carry on (Comping).0 -

Thank you for your recent internet order.
Unfortunately we have not been able to complete the processing of your order as a part you have ordered is currently out of stock.
We will however, process your order, minus this item and will deduct the cost from your order also. ERRR!! mmOK!
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Did you order a card reader for the TV as well? Maybe they are going to send you the card reader but not the TV as its out of stock.:rolleyes:0 -
Still no call back (even though I was told it would definitely be yesterday morning) and of course I can't get through to the Irish call centre now to even ask for Sonia (assuming it was her real name which i doubt). Can't face explaining the whole sorry saga to someone else. My online order is now saying " we have located your order but cannot advise a status".
I guess I am not getting one but I wish they would just confirm that and then I can see my solicitor and move onto the next step (lucky she is a friend and won't charge me to write them a letter).
Very fed up now!0 -
Just spoke to an Indian chap and I was referred to the second sentence of clause 4 "Changes to exchange rates, duties, insurance, freight and purchase costs (incl, for components & Services) may cause Dell to adjust prices accordingly".
Apparently, this allows them to offer us a 10% discount on the 32" model.
Am awaiting a call back so will update later.0 -
After speaking to several different people, I have been told by customer care that they are going to try to upgrade me to the next model... Judging from my experience so far this morning, this seems to be far from likely and they will probably offer me that 10% discount again...
Now waiting for another call back.0 -
Well if they offered me the 32" I would be biting there hand off, good luck.0
-
Well, my order is still showing as in production on their systems since 29th Nov with an estimated delivery date of 5th December!!! Not turned up yet.0
-
They must be only changing the delivery date when you contact them about none delivery.0
