This might be a bit premature, but I have just been onto the watchdog site and sent them an email of the problems we are having with Dell over this lcd. I think the more people that contact them, we might get a responce from them, then Dell might get there finger out  .

    as goldenbolux's post,

we have both posted on the dell forums regarding a hissing sound from the speakers when on volume 1 or above. This disappears on mute or a volume of 0. However, there is a similar noise at all times from the unit itself (right hand side - above the mains socket) which can be heard from the grills on the top of the tv.

Same revision number 3. Actually seems to now be getting worse with a bit of crackling thrown in now and then.
  • just further to jordys post if anyone is wondering what hissing we are talking about
have a listen over the top of your unit if you were lucky enough to get one
look through the grills to the backlight
we think the hiss is coming from there
anyone else who has this this is apparently something that we shouldnt put up with
this unit we are told should run silent
A penny saved is something else for the wife to spend !!!
  • RRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! I have the hissing sound on a REV. 3 but it didnt bother me, now after reading this thread about the hissing it now bothers me that there may be a fault.
Sometimes its best not to read about faults if you are happy about something.

Yea, I'm getting the same. I imagine it'll be working shortly.

I'm tempted to just cancel it, but on the other hand I don't want to miss out on getting an alternative replacement for it if it turns out it's no longer in stock lol.
