Im not saying dont tell people problems !
But you cant really compare a £360 26" tv against say a Philips 26" tv that costs over twice as much, you have to compare it like with like in the same price ranges.0 -
Cheers.. I didnt mean all of that at you directly.
I agree, terrific bargain for the price. It was the 1st review I read.. so posted it. Have since seen better ones, and will advise my mother to get one for her kitchen.

For £360 (plus 5% cashback through quidco even better!) I dont think anyone can complain too much about the quality of this product compared to similar sized screens from ANY manufacturer. Suck it and see.Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

Just had a chat with a cust services agent at Dell. He says the reason for the price drop is the specs are different from when the prices were higher.
He claims the components are not as good as the ones previously used.
I would take this with a pinch of salt though."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
As this TV does not have HDMI/HDCP connector then it may not work with the new Sky HDTV broadcasts due to start next year.
This of course explains the price reduction.0 -
thats the thing im most concerned about, is this hdtv ready? I really need to find out if I will be able to watch the new sky HDTV service next year.0

It does not have HDMI BUT is HD ready according to spec through component.
Sky HD will first launch with component out which will do HD. Later boxes will drop this. So early adopters will by pass HDCP for Sky HD
Component is v good quality anyway and for only 26" HDMI would not really improve the quality. In fact HDMI implementations are not that great yet IMO.
This is a good deal. I would have prefered dual DIGITAL tuners. Nice for the bedroom or large kitchen.0 -
"HD Ready" .. why does that term get people so excited? Its HD Ready alright... ready to scale a HD broadcast (which can be max 1080 lines of resolution) down to its 768 lines.I hear the cry of the silence around me.0

Any TV is HD ready so this term is very misleading.
At present, 'HD Ready' means.... ' We are trying to get rid of old stock that will not work with Sky HDTV when it arrives, and hopefully some mug will buy it'
Unless the TV has HDCP then in my view, and Sky, it is not HD ready.0
