I've just booked the Alessandro Della Spina on www.alpharooms.com and if you do it through Quidco as well it works out at just over £50 per night.

GH, i've just booked the hotel you recommended and used quidco as suggested. so i've got my LHW hotel for two nights in Italy and the Alessandro della Spina as you suggested for the night before.

I got my LHW booking so obviously i'm going to say the LHW promotion went fine.

I am inclined to agree though that they have given as many obscure hotel booking as they could. But this was entirely expected by me anyway. Why are they doing this promotion mid-winter? why are they giving rooms in far off places that are cheaper than london paris etc? why do you think?

Were LHW doing this out of the kindness of their hearts to give something back to the people of the world? or were they doing it as a publicity stunt to raise awareness of the brand? figure it out folks.

I know i was lucky and i also know for a fact i would be a bit bitter about the whole process if i hadn't been lucky. but i don't think it was a con or a sham at all. many many people have got a great deal out of this and many of them like me are folk that maybe couldn't normally stay in these types of places.

just thought i'd throw in my thoughts as the debate rages on lol.

:T  this is the first time i've won something like this, and it will be someone else's turn next time i'm sure. was just a lottery i think, lets take a breath.

Thanks to MSE and OP and all contributors you've made my year!

Can someone let me know who the confirmation/rejection email came from, i.e. what was in the From: line of the email? I'd like to check with my ISP whether it's been considered spam as I haven't received confirmation yet.

Congratulations to everyone that got the rooms, I got the email yesterday to confirm I was not successful and I also failed to get a Hoxton £1 room at midday today, but I´m off to email to go for the times 241 offer at the Mr and Mrs Smiths hotel page, if I don´t get that I´ll still be booking a London Hotel for our trip to England in December and I´m still grateful to get the chance to hear about and to try to go for these offers, so thanks for sharing them and thanks to the hotels for doing the offers, some people have got lucky and it will be making those people very happy - how can that be wrong?

I have now booked www.hydeparktowers.co.uk for 2 dec nights at £160 in total inclusive of breakfast and taxes, recent reviews are great, I called them directly for the best rate, and I am really excited about staying there as I think they seem to be very customer focused and a friendly bunch. I´ll let you know how it goes. I don´t regret the time spent trying to get a LHW or Hoxton room at all its all fun!

Did anyone get a room at Gleneagles? I was on line and had my application in within 45 seconds, for any date, any length of stay but alas didn't get a room. I too checked and know that they had available rooms for all November dates!!!

I'm sorry but I don't think I can agree with your sentiment that the promotion has been great.

They made a mess of it first time round. Second time round they made a mess of it as you couldn't select a whole week in November on the form - that was the week I wanted and consequently it significantly slowed me down in submitting the form. Something not my fault at all.

Then reading this thread all the promotiom seems to have been about all along is giving out midweek odd nights here and there in obscure places.

I haven't seen anyone say they have had confirmation for a wekend in Paris, or Amsterdam or Prague (my 3 choices).

If they had done then great - they were quicker than me (probably didnt want the impossible to reserve wek in November?!) and they deserve it.

The promotion was a sham to get rid of hard to sell rooms at a non peak time of year.

    Plain and simple.

I was lucky enough to get a weekend in prague. Just trying to sort out cheapish flights now, hmmm.

I too sooo wanted the Gleneagles for my boyfriends birthday on 19th Nov. This would have been a midweek booking over 19th Weds and 20th Thurs and was in also placed well within 45 seconds too.
Would love to know if peeps got it and what dates, sorry, if you don't mind tellling that is. :o

Well done if you did guys - it looks a superb hotel! xx
