Erm... as one such (ex)Morgan Stanley customer, I can safely say this is not the case - as I haven't even been able to register, let alone access my account

Tried to register for the umpteenth time through the Barclaycard site - no luck.

Tried it through the link to Morgan Stanley from my Egg Money Manager page - that link now goes through to Barclaycard - success! :D

The mind boggles.

Now... will it actually let me log in directly through the Barclaycard website...?
• I've been locked out since 24/09/08. I've tried the back door fix but it told me my information was wrong and locked me out of my account so I had to ring CS. (Apparently I was inputting the wrong credit limit.....I wasn't and barclaycard confirmed this!). However, because the man at the Indian call centre didn't fully understand, he kindly re-set my password...something that didn't need doing but will now cause me issues if I ever can get access again!!

There is a rumour that certain accounts have been locked out deliberatly to ensure that new transferred customers get access ok.

Yes, I'm locked out too.. I tried the back door and then said I was locked out. My details were correct, as I always write them down in an encrypted office document.
• As Barclaycard aren't talking to us, I sent the story to all the newspapers and thanks to The Register here are some comments from Barclaycard...not answers, just comments. It's a start.

• I too have been having problems not being able to log on for 10 days.

Have been fobbed off by customer services. I then rang and said I want to cancel my account. Finally I was put through to someone in England:j

They asked why? I told them in no uncertain terms

They credited my account with £15 to help cover the phone costs.

And gave me their direct phone number which is 01642 663780

Thought this might help some of you. least of all help to pay for those phone calls.

BTW still can't get online only through forgotten password way.
• Just tried the 'forgotton your ID' trick which worked a treat :)
I will be writing to Barclaycard this weekend to complain.
• The last time I was able to login through the normal web page was on 23 Sept. After numerous phone calls and e-mails to Barclaycard it would now appear that all my efforts were in vain as the wait could continue for another week or beyond. Looks like there is a long wait ahead.

As an ex-Morgan Stanley Customer, I will be cancelling my account with this bunch of numpties once I have received my cash back.

Come back Morgan Stanley/Goldfish...all is forgiven.;)
• Still no log in Saturday after almost 2 weeks. Here's a collection of places to moan at that have been posted on this forum over the past 2 weeks...and a few other things you may find useful

A direct number (not via India) 01642 663780

Ring their Head Office in London 0207 116 1000 (Office Hours)

Internet Banking Helpline (UK based) 01642 332308

Customer services (Freephone UK Based) 0800 400100 - Hold for advisor & ask for Barclaycard

Moan at Barclaycard Press Office (London based) 0207 116 4755
They can't help but they get really fed up with people ringing them and hopefully shout at the people who have cocked this up louder than we can.

Write to the boss direct
Mr Antony Jenkins
Chief Executive
Barclaycard
1 Churchill Place,
London
E14 5HP

Moan at the Financial Ombudsman
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.u...complaints.htm
Fill in the Word doc and attach it to an e-mail
complaint.info@financial-ombudsman.org.uk
(Don’t just send them a moaning e-mail...all they do is send back the form for you to fill in)

Clicking on 'forgotten your ID number' will often get you in so long as you know all your details...but it's a bit of a long way round.
