Well I managed to get quite abit done tonight.

No more ironing, at last finished it all. :j
I also managed to get quite abit of sorting and shredding of paperwork done. Just got a little bit left to do tommorow.

I also managed to get my MSE updates done and I managed to clean the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. So all in all, not bad.

I did not managed to get anymore books on amazon. I will have to try harder tommorow.

    Well goodnight everybody

    Take care

    Hi everyone,

Feeling quite tired today and I am almost coming to the end of my 6-2pm shift. I am working 2-10pm tommorow, so at least I can have a bit of a lie in.

I am off to see my girlfriend this weekend. She is feeling a bit down so I think I am going to make her a cake. I have found a lovely recipe, so I might give that a try tonight. And I think some flowers would not go a miss.

Anyway better get back to work

    Take care

    Hi everybody,

Well I took some of my cake into work and everybody said it was good.

Here is the recipe it is off the waitrose website.

    Torta Caprese.

    200g dark Choc
    4 medium eggs
    170g caster sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    250g ground almonds
200g butter, melted and cooled until tepid
    Icing sugar to serve

    Method

    1) Lin the base of a 24cm diameter, round cake tin with non-stick baking parchment and grease the sides.
    2) Preheat the oven to 170C, gas mark 3.
    3) Blitz the choc in a food processor until it is finely chopped, though still retaining a little texture
    4) If you dont have a processor, chop the choc finely with a large knife.
    5) Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla extract until the mixture is pale, moussey and thick enough to hold a trail on its surface when you lift the beaters; this should take about 10 minutes. Fold in the choc, almonds and butter. Spoon into the prepared cake tin and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until just firm to touch. Leave to cool in the tin, then turn out. Dust the surface with icing sugar before serving, in wedges, with a little fruit, and a spoonful of creme fraiche.

    Enjoy

Hi Money Fritter, Hope you're having a lovely weekend at your girlfriends and that the cake/flowers cheered her up. How very thoughtful :A

Thanks very much for that cous cous idea, it sounds lovely and I shall certainly be trying it next week. I'll be going shopping tomorrow so I'll get some curry powder.

Fantastic news on the 4lb weightloss Amazing what can happen when ya don't stuff yourself with chinese/wine etc. Although to be honest I'd rather be overweight than not have chinese everyweek
I hope you manage to get through your tight month ok, it will be worth it.

Did you manage to get your decorating in the small room finished?

    Hi Everybody,

Not been on much recently as I was away for the weekend. I had a great time, and did not want to come back. :rotfl:

Also I am now addicted to pet society and farm town on facebook. Sad I know.

My girlfriend loved the cake, I also gave a piece to my mum, who wants the recipe, so all in all a very successful trip.

The decorating is going, but going slowly. I have a busy week in work this week, but at least I am back on days. I am off to a wedding at the weekend and I am having a few days off work next week.

Anyway, better get back to it

    Take care

Sounds like you're doing well! Love the idea of baking but then giving the cakes to other people - wish I had that much self-control!

With the miserable weather we've been having recently, sounds like you'll get lots of decorating done next week - make sure you do something to treat yourself as well - even if it is "pet society" :rotfl:

    Take care!

I used to be a farm town addict but havent played it for weeks now - also I tried farmville but got bored with that. I am addicted to Be A Tycoon and only wish that I was a trillionaire in real life:rotfl: If my fingers are on the keyboard, they are not in the biscuit tin or the pantry:rotfl:

Well I had better go and put my chicken quarters on - stupidly I bagged them in 2s:rolleyes: At least if I cook both I can have one for dinner and the other one can go back in the freezer or be used for sandwiches or even with the salad leaves I picked up in aldi today:D
